If his friend placed a bet under $50 the betting agency would have no reason to raise suspicion even if they knew they were friends which is extremely doubtful. If he told his friend to place it in order to not raise suspicion, why would he voluntarily come forward and confess?

Fox footy said he bet on himself for most goals....that is really bad and the equivalent of match fixing
