You’re right in that he is too soft for AFLW, they play pretty hard. But he is quicker and would more readily evade contact.

I’m not concerned about political correctness. The day women are able to play in the AFL and compete with men is the day I will consider ceasing to make comparisons. I didn’t insult anybody but Jaidyn, so sit your woke ass down.

Back on topic - it's all between the ears with Stephenson.

He would have some of the best people around him, yet it seems like he just doesn't listen.

Checked the Norf board first time ever after seeing a few prompts. He’s copping a roasting. We will take him back of their hands for pick 76 but Norf has to pay 3/4 of his salary.

Why would we want him? Smart move to move him. He'll be out if the afl in a few years.

He was electric on the lead for us in the first half of 2019 - was leading the league in marks inside 50 when he got done for gambling. That gambling suspension seems to have taken away his whole game.

He was okay in the 2019 finals iirc. But he seems to be the type to rest on his laurels. Worked his arse off in 2018 and early 2019, and got rewarded with a fat payday, then seemed to think he didn’t have to work anymore and his poor form followed.
Seems to be repeating his mistakes at Norf. Worked his arse off last year to prove the Pies wrong, and had some absolutely stellar performances, but then went off the rails again thinking he’d done enough to prove we made a mistake letting him go, injured himself being an idiot in the offseason, and is finding himself relegated to the twos. He was so/so in the VFL this week. Definitely not good enough to get recalled.
As an aside, Eddie Ford looks the goods, was really annoyed we didn’t grab him in 2020. Every bit as dynamic as Stephenson was in his first year imo.

All the talk was what a fantastic kid he was before the gambling incident happened. When the gambling suspension went down, there were a lot of people who were critical of the players and felt the players should have got him to stop and hushed it up so it didn't get out, rather than it going to the football boss. I think he probably listened to that talk and it has impacted on him.

IIRC Collingwood have only ever had 2 rising stars, and Stephenson was one of them. And IIRC Stephenson has the record for the most rising star points. And one kick off being a Premiership player in his first year.

Hard to fault the decision to recruit him. He was a star player right up to the point he got busted for gambling on the footy - and he’s been more or less off the rails ever since.
