Patmore is the son of former Australian Olympic hockey star Nigel Patmore, who lives in Adelaide, and his maternal great-grandfather played rugby for New Zealand.

Jake impressed at the 2017 National Championships, averaging 22 disposals and 4.5 tackles a game across 4 matches. He had a huge season at Colts level for Claremont, averaging 29 disposals and 4 tackles a game. He twice went over 40 disposals, with a high of 48 in Round 22.

Gamestyle:

Jake is a creative small who can play both as a play making defender or as an outside midfielder. He loves to receive the ball across half back and take the game on, often dashing off with the ball before providing back up after disposal. His right foot kick can be a bit sloppy at times and he can sometimes work himself into trouble. Jake is a strong tackler and shows good closing speed when chasing.

Mmmm leather poisoning is never a bad thing to have and in the context of the other picks we got he is a good variation to the other mids/half backs we have. Although sounds like he might have some of the same deficiencies as Pittard maybe he can be Corporal Risky.

Interestingly, the spark behind his professional lifestyle change this season was a comment made by SPP in an interview when he got drafted to us of how he only started taking the whole eating and recovering thing seriously heading into his final year. So he's already got a mentor at the club

Speaks well. I really like this pick. Love the fact that he is a high possession winner, and unlike a Brad Symes who we took all those years ago, Patmore seems to have good evasive skills and agility. I like that he meets / intercepts the ball front on at good speed, and makes quick decisions.

Along with the Hayes and Garner picks, this is a really good one.
