Already breaks tackles with his starting speed, will simply get better as gets stronger.
Looked like he was covering more ground as the year wore on.
Sublime foot skills.
Will hurt opposition more as he improves his goal kicking.
His loping run means he covers a lot of ground with each step.
Will play more in the middle in 2015, reads the play like Gray.
I could go on........
That stood out. He courageously takes on the game so often, breaking tackles, taking what appears to be the harder options, often surprising the opposition. You just know he will get stronger, grow in confidence, and become a superstar!

Loved his first half of the season then fitness seemed to hit a wall. Havent heard peep about him in the preseason, hopefully his fitness has picked up and can take it to a new level for you lads. Great season too lads, was cheering for you guys v Hawks.

Will Polec kick on for you guys?

He most certainly will after all that was his first uninterrupted preseason, he then hurt his ankle midway through the year & his form dropped off a little but still managed to contribute more than enough in a number of games.

I think majority of supporters & footy followers were surprised to see we'd get that kinda impact from him in his first year with us & he will definitely improve from here on out as his body develops because he's still only young.

I watched his game against Hawthorn yesterday & it was incredible, if I remember correctly his game at AO against your guys was also pretty impressive. If you're thinking from a fantasy perspective he's better than a few midpricers around his range.

Was watching him a lot during an open training session a few weeks ago, he was extremely fit. The mid field group had to do full length oval repeat sprints and Polec was always up the front. Expect a great year from him! He also had to collect a ball after a drill had finished, instead of an average drop punt back to the ball collector.... He hits the dude on the chest with a cheeky check side from 40 metres away. I let out a lol... But the people around me didn't see it so things got a little awkward:oops:

I've been to one training session, one that was orientated to entertaining the approx 1,000 people there with a bit of match simulation. Polec motored around effortlessly, and I guess that's all we can say. I don't recall him being the subject of any of the normal off-season articles.

Jared was simply trolling the competition with his 2014 year. He's going to be that much better than his good mate Brodie Smith it's not funny. Like, it won't even be close at the end of their careers. And yes, I'm talking about 2014 AA Brodie Smith.

That's the reason I chose Polec as my buddy. Any player that trains with the captain on his time off and says "We've got a premiership to win" has all the necessary attributes to be not just a great player, but a Port Adelaide player.

This post makes me all warm and fuzzy :)

Opposion better look out ... if he could break tackles so easily in 2014, he will be damn nigh unstoppable in 2015

Apparently he is going to win our first ever Brownlow this year. At least thats what I read.

Certainly capable of building on his 2014 year. Greater fitness alone should see him get to more contests. Just one of a few with some upside in 2015.

Watched the game against the Bulldogs again today. Geez that goal he got in the last quarter was good.
Got handball from Jackson on defensive side of circle, ran from the circle then kicked to Chad on the fifty who then handballed it back and Jared ran on and then slotted a goal from 45m out.
He makes it look easy :)

Adds so much to our team. Is a great link between the backs and the mids. Really hope he has worked on his goal kicking in the off-season because he could've had 30+ goals if he kicked straight last season. He's one of the most important players in our side, and I would argue he has one of the highest ceilings in terms of what he could be as a player. So young, so fast, so strong. Explosive on the outside and showed last year he can win the inside ball. Going to be a great player at our club for a long time.

He is brilliant at the give and get. He breaks open congestion so often with this, it's great to watch. One thing I would like to see him improve on, is his aerial contesting. I noticed a few times last year where he looked to have been in the position of advantage but loses the aerial contests. Otherwise he is a little beauty.

This kid has a massive ceiling. Can't wait to see how the next decade pans out for him, let alone the rest of the bunch

not gunna lie, i was a bit skeptical when he first came to port, but i am so very excited about polec this year. he just seems such a pure footballer. he's one of the players who when i see it in his hands, i feel like i can just relax

boyz to men

"Really quickly" a quote from 360's Robbo I think.
Seems to be a common occurrence under our Ken.
Throw in the electrifying and intoxicating atmosphere of our AO crowd
and you can see why they grow to men so fast.
Pride in their jumper, proud of our heritage and pumped by our presence.
As Ollie said anyone who thinks football isn't fun hasn't been to AO.

Does our Jarred look like that James Bond villain with the steel teeth?

PS
Jarred Polec choosing us was the reason I joined BF as a poster.
He is one of my favourite players. Sharking the pack late 3rd Qtr v Crows 29/3/2014 Western side
3 or 4 bounces hits our Jay. My reaction :D:D:D

Polec always had the potential and was a high draft pick for a reason but he just lacked that work ethic. Seems like he was aware of this himself and perhaps chose Port because he knew that would mean nothing but hard work. Perhaps but he easily played his best season of AFL so far last season. Now with another solid preseason he would loom to improve again.

I think about that play and also his work in the last quarter against Carlton in rd 1 and his work against GWS in the cold, especially in the last quarter when he got the ball in the backline and streamed through on the diagonal and everyone else just stood still and set Schulz up for the easy goal.

Pre-season "Showdown" 2014 Richmond Oval. Watched him closely for signs of "softness" and remember a crow or two
tackling him hard( if they could catch him). In the 1st 1/2 I saw him crash front on into one of their many vanilla mid fielders
might have been McKay. Jarred didn't take a backward step but rather raised his knee for protection and EFFECT.
Said to myself you are making a statement today. The rough stuff didn't seem to come naturally to him but he wasn't
going to be bullied by anyone least of all a vanilla prancing, dancing, strutting crow.
Walked away that day thinking you played for Ken,Yourself and us today.
