Loosing Polec would be a disaster, out only fast elite kicking midfielder. but if he leaves because of the massive money north are offering we need to go hard on them, no chance in hell Polec would make it to them in the draft. Carlton and StKilda would both take him.

It's gotta be more to do with contract length doesn't it? if it comes down to a matter of a 100-150k a year he's not factoring in cost of living in Melbourne too wisely.

I agree with this, but we are losing someone who would be our best midfielder if Voss let him be.
We play Ollie, SPP, Rockliff, Wingard, and even Ebert in the centre ahead of him simply because he is our best outside option.
He literally could be the best player in the game for at least a year or two as a number one midfielder.
I don’t think losing him is going to be worth it at all. MUCH better to lose Wines IMO.

I really don't think it's that bigger deal. Particularly since we are bleeding out every orifice for change and bringing more talent in. We've sloshed our first rounders out a bit on Ryder and Dixon and it shows at SANFL level.
Besides, we could realistically pick up a winger in the trade period. We'll be fine, getting even close to Norths offer would be irresponsible and not fair on some of our other players.

Tbh, 500k for three in today’s cap market is a little insulting. If accurate it would almost seem that port are more than happy for a move him on to freshen the list and get some high end pick depth.
