i reckon its come to the time when we have to decide between rivers and macdonald as they cant both play in the same team, there to short and skinny for talls but to big for smalls, they are actually the perfect players to play on our 3/4 fwds...

fwiw, macdonald is a better player than rivers IMO

Yep, needs to be dropped. Jmac can do his job and provides much more grunt and hardness and is infinitely better in a 1 on 1 situation.

Is a useless player. Too small for big players and too slow for small players. Always beaten one on one. USELESS.

Not shit but I'm a tad suprised at some of the praise he was given for todays game. Wasn't his opponent Scotland? If so, Scotland destroyed him and this wouldn't be the first time. Whoever Jones plays on seems to rip it up, even if Jones wins a fair bit of ball himself. It's not good enough.

Yeah I've sort of refrained from having an opinion on Rivers this year, but I think it may be time to pull the pin. MacDonald is better, no doubt about it IMO.

Can someone tell me which player gave away the free kick (reversal) which lead to Heath Scotland's goal - 3rd term.

He tugs at his jumper and says sorry heaps. :o

i think it was brad green, whilst he had davies sitting on top of him, not only did he give away a goal but he was pissweak 2

Disagree wholeheartedly. Some of his play-ons are absolutely ridiculous.
whilst I agree in principal, it is considerably better that when we decide to kick backward to a player who isn't free in the back line, turn over the ball & concede a goal. I've seen that about 50 times too many in 2011 & yet we persist.

I'm all for play on, but there's a time and a place and it's not every single time no matter what.

Is it really Rivers' fault that he's being forced to play on guys 10, even 16 cm taller?

Would we consider playing Martin, Gawn and Jamar, with Martin playing largely as a tall defender? We need someone who can play on resting ruckmen and Martin would be a decent choice.

At the risk of insighting ill-will - why does Chip escape criticism?

I think he has played 2-3 good games all year but been very average other than that. But that is not the worst, the worst is how bad he has been over the past 3-4 weeks and how lazy he looks.

Is it just me? What are everyone elses thoughts on Chip, particularly the last 3 weeks?

Some of Chunk's turnovers today were catastrophic. As much as he has a crack, he turns it over something shocking. I think we need to look elsewhere. :(

Yes, it is just you. Chip is far from lazy. He has to do a ridiculously large amount of work in defence. Not only does he have to stop the opposition's best forward but he is our best rebounder and has to help out our other defenders.

And, on top of this, you write this after he keeps Andrew Walker to 2 cheap goals and only 11 possessions? He's what, 4th in the Coleman race?

Look I'm not looking for a shit-fight, I thought I worded my post as such. I was just as in love with him last year as everyone else was. Just wanted other people's opinions.

He hasn't seemed to have that fight in him that he had last year, I've noticed him trailing his man on a lot of occasions and not working as hard off his man either.

Rivers can only play as the third man up, but really who can't? Remember Jason Cloke FFS. He gets thrown around way too easily to play on key forwards and is not quick enough to play on mid sized forwards. Going backwards at a rate of knots. I agree that we'd be better off with MacDonald or Warnock, at least they are good one out.
