Review Jarrad Waite

Na watched it on TV on ONE HD. From what me and Dad saw, looked like he copped an elbow to the head. The Channel 10 commentators said it was a clash of heads, but it looked like an elbow to us on the replay they showed.

Short on time

"We spoke about it, that we'd give the doc five minutes - we can adjust -and then we'd see what we could do from there onwards," Ratten said.

"We just got the call that he probably wasn't right. It was going to take 15 minutes or so to get him right, so we made the call that he might not even be right at the 15-minute mark."

Ratten says Waite might have come back onto the field if the old four-man interchange bench was still in operation.

"I think we would've given him a lot more time," he explained. "We would've been down to three men, but we might have given him 20 or 30 minutes."

...if you had to put a label on Carlton's brand of footy in 2011, what would it be?

Ratten "Uncompromising."

Waite + Thornton + Walker = compromising

nice win though.

I wasn't sitting too far away from where it happened, and unfortunately missed the actual contact by a second or two, but it definitely wasn't in play. Rance moved away very sheepishly as soon as it happened. Could you see the actual contact on TV?

It was a fair way off the ball, they did show a replay on TV, but not a close up. It looked like Rance tried to sheppard him illegally. Should be cited I would say, especially seeing he had to be subbbed off because of it.

Anything in that backwards kick of Waite's that made contact to the area of whoever it was that's apparently pretty painful?

Push in the shoulder blades on Waite, threw his leg back to try and regain his balance and accidently kicked the guy between the loose change and his hanky

Nothing in it apart from accidental contact

If Waite was serious about it, he would have turned around and had a jumper pulling contest.

At a guess, Rance will be reported for high hit on Waite. Waite will be reported for kicking Rance.

Waite got his bell rung and was concussed/subbed.

He looked all at sea up until then, too, so not sure what was happening there.

Boy do we need him up and about up forward.

Rance will be cited and will be gone for 1 to 2... in fact I would hope that the AFL actually now goes tougher on high end contact causing concussion and forcing a player out of the game....

If I was Hardwick and I wanted to screw up our team balance last night the player I'd tell the boys to knock out would of been Waite.... not thinking conspiracy but you never know.. can't take the pr!ck out of the ex-Essendon player.

Waite will get cited and I would suspect will get some activation points but not enough to warrant missing a game (unless anything he has left over from last season add up enough to missing a game).

Yet to see a good angle of the incident..

But Mark Robinson seems to think there was a bit in it..

From 'The Tackle'..

What I Think I Don't like.

4. Criticism of Alex Rance. OK, he hit Waite high, off the ball and should get a couple of weeks rest. But love his attitude. He tried to block Waite as Waite turned to double back. It happens 50 times in a game. The Tigers need some attitude and Hardwick would be quietly impressed.

Blues v Tigers - Robbo's best and worst

poor discipline AGAIN by Waite

They're looking at him again for a hit on Pendlebury. Unbelievable. :thumbsd:
What a joke.

That was similar to his report against Melbourne last year where he pulled up, but couldn't avoid making contact. Waite had to make an attempt to spoil, but didn't commit and "follow through" after Pendlebury marked. Jarrad has always been all arms and legs with some of his efforts. Clumsy at times.

Had to laugh at this one from some Collingwood muppet :o

That's as serious as this clash...

SOME Collingwood supporters need to get over their obsession with Judd and the Saints.

Just to throw this out there, Matty Lappin brought it up with KB after the game, asking why Judd gets the treatment he gets that other players don't.

Which surprised me a fair bit I must say.

What?

Care to re-word that because I can't make much sense of it?
