Does anyone know any truth behind any of the Rumours Jars says in the paper?

Today he says there is a Melbourne Player who would suit the Adelaide midfield & that The Crows should approach him because his club will let him go!

Does anyone know who this could be & where Jars sources would come from???

Jars' flying sources would probably come from planet Jars.

However, there has been talk of the erratic Travis Johnstone being put up for trade bait?

Turns 25 next year and is soft, I wouldn't think he would be a high priority for us.

Jars would have many sources no question!

mymansyd is spot on, it is Travis Johnstone that he was talking about in this mornings paper! ;)

When you say Melbourne, Riddler, do you mean the Demons or a Victorian club?

As for Travis Johnstone, :p :D :p .

Funny stuff.

Well i'm not sure McLeod23.

All it says is "Who is the Melbourne player who would suit the Adelaide on-ball brigade next year? Word is his club is going to let him go at the end of the year. I suggest the Crows approach this classy midfielder".

Could be from anywhere. I admit my first thought was Travis Johnstone. Maybe he's saying "Melbourne" to throw people off.

Jars didn't make it 'Crystal clear' but I'm pretty sure the bloke isn't a Melbourne player, just an AFL player who plays at a Victorian or Melbourne club.

I reckon he could be talking about Adam Cooney.

The 2nd rumour RE: Interstate incident at a hotel, would have to be Collingwood and Neil Balme is the one who almst lost his job, allegedly.

Dunno abou thte last rumour though!

I do NOT want Travis Johnstone. He has all the silky skills BUT to date he has only produced 1 good season back in 2002. He is soft, inconsistent and I doubt his off-field "behaviour" would be attractive to the Crows.

OTOH, Cooney I would definetly consider. We need youngsters not bloody mid-age inconsistent players. We have too many of them as it is.

Travis Johnstone??? If it was for a 3rd rounder - yes. But no more than that or zero interest.

Cooney - possibly, depending what we had to give up. If it was our first round draft pick - no. I think this year's draft is stronger than last year, and I'd rather go there than give up a first rounder for him.

Joel Smith was mentioned elsewhere. Ugh. No interest.

Now Macca lets be sensible, Johnstone is better than Burton, and you would not consider letting Burton go for a 3rd round pick, second yes.
On his day Johnston is the best player in the Melbourne side and a match winner. Maybe he needs the kick up the backside for everyone to see him play consistently.

Yes I would take Cooney for our first round pick - hell he was #1 last year, hasn't enjoyed Melbourne, and will have a years experience behind him.

Don't know that this years draft will be any stronger than last year - Vic Metro who won the title didn't have many standouts IMO, Sth Aust had mal-nourished kids..

I'm glad you hilite on his day - but the statement is correct.
Its just that he has to be reintoduced to the supporters group when/sometimes/if he plays:p :p :p

Johnstone's good games are far and few between. I didn't say he's only worth a 3rd rounder - I said that's all I'd give for him.

We need more like him like we another hole in our backsides.

As for the overall depth of the draft, quite a few of the experts are saying that this is a fairly deep draft, particularly from an SA and WA point of view. We should be able to get a couple of talented locals for a change in this year's draft.
