Don;t postthat much and there have probably been a few threads over the years... but how about that Jason Blake?

I just realised that he is about to play his 14th year. Most players don't mak it past 4 years, so it's a tribute to Joe that he has shown this longevity.

You know that you get 100% every week and then some. Whilst not technically brilliant, the man matches Lenny for courage IMO. Super athlete and very underrated IMO.

On a practical level, I'd like to see him become redundant through someone pushing him for his spot... but there is no denying what a champ he is. :thumbsu:

Just had to put it out there. :D

I always admire people who make the most of every opportunity. Jason Blake certainly fits into that category. But more than just pushing himself, Jason shows integrity, honesty and a great strength of character.

Jason shows the Robert Harvey personal attributes and is a fitting role model continuing for another year at the club.

I don't for a split second believe he's still 189cm. While he's not going to be 195cm+, if he's about 192 or 3, and we can get his weight to a strong 95kg or something (pack on the weights in his training), maybe he could be redesigned as a harrasser of the Big Forward, if we can't nab somebody like Tippett or Post?

Seeing Blakey in person a few times, I'm really not that sure he's much more than the listed height. Very similar to Siposs who is 190.

He's got a long way with experience, a huge tank, and a fantastic leap.

By the way, I'm still waiting for someone to do his 2012 review!

So, Hawkins is 197cm and 100kg. Jumping Jack is 195cm and 93kg. Kurt Tippett is 203cm and 107kg. Buddy is 196cm and 102kg.

Do you reckon Blake could keep them honest? Is the leap, heart, maturity, etc enough? (I'm honestly asking the question - still trying to work out the answer myself!)

He did well on Jack Riewoldt when he was on him, IIRC Riewoldt didn't kick a goal when Blake played on him. He could take Hawkins, but none of the other monster talls. We might not have to worry about Tippet too much though :p

I think this season showed he can't, maybe Simpkin can be a full time 3rd man up?

Review of Jason Blake 2012

I love the Blake.

SainterK 7/11/12

So you are rating out of 12?

Is 7 the first half of the season, and 11 the second?

Or is Blakey a 7 and you've slipped a rating for yourself in there? (11/12 - why aren't you perfect?)
