okay im going to play devils advocate here...

when we drafted luke jericho they would have known that he wasnt the toughest footballer going around, also you cant have every bloke being tough as nails, you need the reciever outside to run with the ball, this is what jericho needs to do because clearly he is not going to be the inside man. he still isnt really that old, it took a lot of our superstars longer than this to come out, one who is playing game number 250 this week took time to adjust to afl footy too probably more cos of off field but still took his time. he is on our list, you dont have to like him but atleast give him a chance cos he is part of our club and we should support every player on the list!!

I agree that not every player needs to be as hard as nails. Every team has room or maybe needs recievers. Lukes problem to date is that he doesnt recieve. He reads play very poorly and looks quite lost at times. If you are not going to be an in and under type of player then you need to know where to be and when. I'm not convinced that he can do this. Blake Caracella was the expert.

Good call.

Good luck to Luke and to all the Jerichoholics out there

It's a good point Crowkey. I think most people underestimate how much courage you need to have to even step on the field at this level. Even though I think he's a t*sser, I really enjoyed the Shane Crawford doco of a year os so ago. It showed how much pain these guys have to deal with week in, week out.

Mind you, I hate the way Jericho plays but he probably has more courage than the majority of this board.

Jericho on the other hand cries when in the presence of the great man due to a combination of fear and awe.

hey, I'll be honest - I would too :o

where do people see him playing? He's been all over the park in the sanfl, forward and back. Could he replace mattner as the third tall back - releasing mattner to the wing, or even play on the wing himself where he'd be able to use his pace and kick.

I have no idea, he could end up playing everywhere. I have only seen him at halfback for Westies but I wouldn't be too confident of him playing there unless it did allow Mattner to run further up the ground. Everybody rubs themselves over Jericho's super pace so make him use it and get him on the wing or something I say.

Considering our inability to kick a winning score and how crappy our forward line has been, I think he will play in the attack. Mattner will once again be a 3rd tall in defence :o

 *puts hands in the air* not me!!! :D

i think people realise he doesn have some pace about him, lets hope its utilised.

What a brave guy you are!! You could just about be sure that no-one in the AFL will kick 10 this week.
If he kicks a couple in his return I will be satisfied. IMO he has a bit to offer and I am prepared to give im a chance, instead of continually bagging him like many posters here.

I will be happy with 15 possessions (10 kicks and 5 handballs) 5 or 6 marks and 1 or 2 goals.

Anything more than that will be outstanding.
