Interesting idea. I wonder if we will see a deal in the future where two clubs swap their follow year's first rounders with agreement that a certain party will get the lower one?

Not quite what I was getting at, as mine was under the assumption that Fremantle would finish lower.

However, interesting extrapolation of the idea.
 
Most dockers supporters would probably shoot this down but how about.
Weller and our 2018 second to St Kilda for pick 8 and St kilda's second
Pick 5 and 8 to Melbourne for Hogan

Pretty sure the media has been reading these horrible threads. When you have the head coach and football manager both categorically rule out Hogan moving yet the media still keeps driving the story you know it is BS.

What i heard was "we have no spoken to any club about a trade involving jesse hogan". Unless ive missed something (which im sure you will tell me if i have), that doesnt rule it out at all.

I listened to Mahoney on trade radio this morning and my understanding of it is that he is not on the trade table but surely that all changes if he requests a trade to a WA club. I wouldn't expect anything less of the list manager other than to say he sees them at the club next year yada yada yada (see Tom Boyd, Burton earlier this year on Lever, Ah Chee this trade period)...

If you think him saying Jesse has never been spoken about as a trade option internally or externally and they look forward to seeing him turn up to preseason isn't ruling it out then not sure what to say mate.

If Hogan wanted out it would've been stated by now. The guy may leave but he wouldn't be a prick about it and only let the club know days before the trading period.

So either Mahoney is saving face and rolling out cliches. Hogan hasn't told the club of his intentions. It was never in play.

My rough back of an envelope percentages based on years of studying pattern algorithms and probability of events are:

Mahoney a knob - 3%
Hogan hasn't told the club - .85%
It was never in play - 96%

The remaining .15% is a culmination of Melbourne need room for Lever, Hogan doesn't like Melbourne weather, Fyfe and him want to start an enterprise called 'Hogan and Top Knot' a brewery specialising in fine ales from the deepest parts of the Paraguayan jungles. Actually that's pretty bloody sweet... make that worth a whole 1% and take a touch of Mahoney a knob.
 
I think it was Jon Ralph saying Hogan may be concerned his name keeps being brought up. But it's seems to be only the journos like him doing it. And a few people in forums etc.
if the club tell him they want to keep him surely he won't be concerned.

We'll get these rumours yearly as long as his not playing in WA.

There's one way to make these rumours go away, Jesse or his manager to come out publicly this trade period and say he'll be a demon in 2018. Until then, the rumours will have legs.

If only he had signed a contract extension within the last 12 months without even being out of contract, we might have had a clearer idea

Mahoney is a knob would be in the 40-50% range at least. He seemed to enjoy throwing Watts under the bus today.

Fair to say he's been through a lot in his personal life in the 12 months since he signed that contract extension...

Really?? So every year now he has to come out and make a public commitment to the club? C'mon this is media driven and the club has stated when asked that they have no intentions of trading him and they have no knowledge of him wanting out.

It takes 10 seconds or one social media post or a one liner from his manager in an interview; it really isn't that hard. IMO though I think a lot of player's get a bit of an ego boost when their name is thrown around and laugh at the wild speculation in the media when they know what their immediate future holds.
