Seriously it isn't out of the realm of possibility. If he doesn't get a game this week after kicking 6 in the reserves then he might not form part of Longmire's long term plans.

He would definitely be seeking a trade if he doesn't add to his games tally for the rest of the season.

I reckon we'd take a third rounder. (Obviously guessing)

Although it was just 1 game I like Johnston more than him as the longterm FF. Unless he gets a game in the near future and turns potential into reality, I'd be happy with a 3rd rounder for him.

He's had a lot of chances to prove himself and other blokes have simply got ahead of him in the queue and actually took their chances when the opportunity came.

Don't think a third rounder is enough... we're giving up a guy who is a proven AFL player - to some extent - third round is a bit to speculative for mine. Would be happy to go player forp layer, or maybe a slightly higher pick. Though I suppose the way Brissy are ending up, their third rounder would be pretty much a second round pick.

At the moment i don't think White is a proven AFL player. A few good games 2 years ago isn't enough to convince me that he is a proven AFL player.

That's why I said to some extent. I mean, he's no Ed Barlow, if you put him in your forward line, he will get by. I think he's worth more than a third rounder. But that said, Horse seems to have a place for White in the Swans forward line so let's just wait until season's end.

He played a few good games last year, and not every one of his games this year was terrible.

The White criticism is now getting out of hand.

I'm flat out calling the hate at pathetic levels.

A physically developed, 50 game KPP 196cm 105kg non injured for a 3rd rounder. Get your hand off it.

disregarding the well worn argument of his output, it seems Longmires plans include him as of 2 weeks ago:

Longmire said:
Meanwhile, Longmire said he would like to settle down burly 23-year-old Jesse White - who has not played seniors since round six - in a permanent spot at full forward once he earned a recall.

"He's just been a little bit inconsistent in the past couple of weeks so we're working to get him back in the team as soon as we can," he said.

LJ doesn't have the size or presence to play out of FF IMHO, nor or in the future. Definitley slots in the foreward line somewhere though.

I haven't been overly impressed with him recently but talking 2nd and 3rd rounders for him is ridiculous.

I realise Brisbane or any other club would probably not give up a first rounder but for a 2nd or 3rd rounder I think we're better off taking the risk. If it fails... we lose out on a draft pick. If it succeeds we get a 10 year full forward.

We need to keep him for at least another season before considering moving him on.

We already have a thread on White

You can never have too many threads on Jesse White Bedders, you should know that?

Also, keep your hands of MY Jesse White, you filthy animals. :D

A 3rd rounder next year in a compromised draft?
Surely some of you are having a lend.

I see White as being at a crossroads really, if he can start to take marks and play the role of a leading forward his future is safe.

According to the ressies thread although he kicked 6, a few of those were crumbing goals which is not what we need out of him at the senior level. (maybe White can coach Reid on goalkicking and Reid can teach White how to take a contested grab)

He has the rest of this season to show that he can play the roll the senior team requires of him, if not he may find it even harder next year once Johnston bulks up a bit more and is realistically competing for the same spot.

If we were to move White on, based on exposed form we'd likely be looking 2nd rounder imo, pick 30 - 45ish

Didn't read any hate in a couple of posters opinions on where he might be traded if indeed he was. Think you and DG and massively over-reacting. Anyone else is fair game for trade talk though for mine I think talk of White being traded is not realistic at this stage of the year. He has ample opportunity ahead to make his stamp as a forward and I think, failing this, he'd make a pretty handy tall-defender.

Perhaps, as Bedford suggested, the OP really should have put the question in an existing thread but I see nothing hateful or over the top in the response to the OP from Swans fans. Just a bit of conjecture, rightly or wrongly. They're just opinions.

I was quoting and replying to DG about "the white criticism is getting out of hand". "The White hate" I referred to wasn't just in this thread (not much really, just questions), it was in multiple threads permeating this board and RWO.

The guy is crumbing goals in the reserves, and people are not happy with that!? As long as he kicks goals, he can do it any way he pleases. I think however we all can agree we would like to see more leadup mark/goals and some pack work.

But if he is quick, smart and agile enough to be kicking opportunist goals, then that's a bloody good start, something that key full forwards have always had. So Braddy can work with him full time, on the lead up/work rate needed now to play out of the square.

Look, I'm listening to Johnny Cash and I'm a bit drunk, but can we stop bagging out White for a few weeks, because in my gut I suspect he is going to rise back up and show us what he can do. That's not very scientific I know, but he's topop big and agile to throw away, surely?

Stuff science.

The drunken rantings of a man listening to 'A boy named sue' is enough to convince me.

We need to give Jesse a lot more time. Last year he was just a 22yo young developing forward. He's currently a 23yo young developing forward and is learning his craft in the reserves, it is understandably hard to win a spot in our forward line at the moment with long established key forwards like Lewis Roberts-Thomson and Sam Reid. What a lot of people forget is that next year Jesse will still only be a young 24yo developing forward, and I think people need to be patient. He is still young and we need to allow him to develop

Well said. The shite is being thrown at him on more than just this thread.

That patronising crap is pathetic.

Me? I want him to stay at the club. On our brilliant run at the tail end of last year, three names come to mind: Jesse White, Trent Dennis-Lane, and Kieran Jack. All three stood up. White was forcing crumbs for TDL to take hold of, dishing off assists, and kicking a few himself, did everything right. Don't understand people who see him as crap.

Then again, I didn't think he was too bad against Carlton and he was dropped after that so meh.
