My review is: It wasn't great. Too many ripped off Rolling Stones songs and an incredible lack of versatility.

Well for years I'd been wondering what The Knack's new album would sound like. Now I know.

I've had a listen and it's rubbish. Jet are rubbish. I feel sorry for anyone who likes these unoriginal copycats. Go search around and find some real music.

Was going to make a comment here, but looks like these guys have it pretty well covered.

Jet do sound like the Stones or just sound like other good bands from the 60's but thats what makes them good. All of todays music is shit which is why Jet are awesome. Kinda like Oasis and sounding like the Beatles. That's awesome. Better than RHCP or Short Stack or Nickelback or the plethora of absolute shite out there.

Their music doesn't cease to exist just because it came out 40 years ago.

I have a real hard time believing that someone is sitting there and listening to Rubber Soul on vinyl, and then listening to Jet's Shaka Rock, and then chucking on Tommy.

I think there's a direct correlation between the amount of 60s rock you ACTUALLY listen to and the amount that you dislike Jet.

People like to run around nowadays dropping the names of Lennon, Jagger, Townshend... But not nearly as many actually listen to their work - Most of them take the easy, commercial, pop option and listen to Jet instead.

Ironically enough, I was in a restaurant today and Gold had a Beatles marathon on, or something of the like. After a while, the radio was then changed to some random pop station and Jet came on.

Didn't last long, though, as it was promptly switched back. I wonder if it was at the behest one of the clearly more mature patrons.

I think the issue that folks take with Jet et al, is that rather than just wearing their influences on their sleeves (which isn't wrong btw), is that they are packaged as "original", and "original" they clearly aren't.

I really feel sorry for people who just can't accept that a lot of people don't take Jet or Jet listeners seriously. It's cheap rip off stuff. Like a "SIEKO" watch or a "Prado" handbag.
