Team News

West Coast

Off-season recruit Brendon Ah Chee, first-year players Liam Ryan and Brayden Ainsworth, plus AFLX stars Daniel Venables, Jake Waterman and Francis Watson have been given the nod to line up against the Power on Sunday.

Waterman and Watson will play their second JLT Series fixture following appearances against Greater Western Sydney in Narrandera last year, but Venables will play his first full-length game as an Eagle against the Power.

West Coast had to trim four players from its initial 30-man squad, thus Jackson Nelson, Luke Partington, Malcolm Karpany and Jarrod Brander have been named as emergencies.

Port Adelaide

Tom Rockliff won't line up in Port Adelaide's clash against West Coast in Perth on Sunday afternoon. However, fellow recruits Steven Motlop, Lindsay Thomas, and Jack Watts have been selected.

Robbie Gray has also been picked after making a successful recovery from testicular cancer over the pre-season.

Trent McKenzie, Jimmy Toumpas, and new recruits Kane Farrell and Jake Patmore will not face the Eagles in JLT 1.

We can safely add Nick Riewoldt to the list of commentators who have NFI.

Jack Darling has 'never strung together a season kicking 40-50 goals'.

Apart from last year. And the year before that. And the two other times he did it. So 4 times in 6 full seasons from debut, and 26 in 15 games in the one season where he missed all of pre-season and the first 11 games of the season.
