They weren't provided the right to not self incriminate.

They had legal counsel present and had the choice not to say anything. Yet they appear ro have done so (most of them anyway).

The choice may have involved breaking an employment contract, but guess what - that means that they were advised well in advace, of the conditions that they would play under. That everyone play under. And everyone coaches and supports under.

So if you were stupid enough to ride close to the edge, then you have to choose the talk option and risks that may entail, or the no comment option and the contract implications (and innuendo) that go with it.

I thought it was killed off in some earlier thread. The rumour keeps breaking into other discussions too. I feel like I'm bein trolled by Joe without his having heard of me.

I very much want to see Essendon brought to justice if the evidence suggests they have been guilty of doping, however I 100% agree with you on this sub-issue.

People are against you guys on this sub-issue because they're against you guys in general. That is wrong. It's generalisation. Logically, it's in the same basket as stereotyping or even discrimination. To some extent, I think most people view Essendon supporters as thinking the world is out to get them, and it's true, the world kind of is out to get them on every single little tiny thing...

That's why I don't concern myself with these little sub-topics of the actual issue. The actual issue, and the events that went on at Essendon, are worthy of condemnation. But Essendon supporters, club, players, and coaches simply don't seem to *get* that bigger issue. The perceived arrogance of this makes us hate the club even more. It's a vicious positively reinforcing cycle.

I'm not out to get Essendon. Im out to get slaughtered.

That was not my point.

Yes - any sane person will be sceptical about a "non-response", "half answer" or "ambiguous" answer from any AFL club.

The degree of scepticism will be in direct proportion to the amount of crap spouted by said club in the recent past.

Unfortunately EFC has been spreading bulldust so widely and heavily in the last 3 years that non-EFC supporters have developed a default position of "EFC are lying until it's proven they are not"!!
