This kid's courage was effectively questioned during the week. To see him come out and continue to put his head over the ball and attack the footy was great. At least two instances in the second quarter showed why he get the frees he does.

The kid is a star.

Are you taking mind altering drugs? NO ONE has ever questioned his courage.

There was just some envy about the free kicks he receives for putting his body on the line time after time.

He hasn't even played 100 games. He's going to lead our next core of players, and he's going to lead our current core of players in their twilight. Ling absolutely earned his stripes but gee you won't find leadership transition like this - Harley - Ling - Selwood.

I'm not getting ahead of myself here :o

No way! It will be amazing to see what he does when the older guys have moved on to be honest.

During the third quarter I just watched him run around for like 15 minutes. He just goes back and forth and back and forth. If he is within 15m of the ball, everyone else should just stop trying. Loved his dive in between the two Dogs players.

Not true.

In my unenviable position sitting among the Collingwood members last week he was somehow viewed as a gutless cheat.

The AFLPA 2009 Most Courageous Player award doesn't carry much kudos these days apparently.

I <3 Joel!

I swear he looked quicker last night than what he usually does aswell, which made me happy.

Outstanding again last night was Joel, there is no1 that goes harder at the footy than him, this guy is something very special. Loved his comments after the game when asked about the free kicks.

2011 Captain?

What was the comment?

He said something like "i don't care what anyone says, I'm just going to keep trying to get the footy'

The moment Gaz is announced as a GC player, I'm loading up on Joel for the Brownlow. He is something else.

He was my brownlow tip at the start of the year (I didn't back him though)

And I thought he was down weeks 1-9 (or so)

But he will poll more than anyone in the league in rounds 10-20 (or so) :D

Yum.

Duck, duck, goose

Joel was pumped. Just like Ablett in 2009 after Timmy Watson questioned his work ethic. All I say to the media and supporters of other clubs - keep criticising our boys.
