Tell that to the 18 players left on the field busting their guts against the odds. Big picture is that this may benefit us but I never like seeing underdogs lose like this especially when it is our boys. How good is Grimes!.. seriously.

Jordan McMahon is a deadset hero in my books, I was ropable
in the dying seconds of the game, I wanted a loss - more than
anything! Enter McMahon, now Im celebrating over a few beam
cans, its fantastic.

Now ill watch WC and Essendon and hope the Weagles can salute.
 
You do realize your mob was allowed to win one more game. Though, for the record, losing to Fremantle is a pretty hard task.
 
Damn Mcmahon, as a Freo supporter he could've just cost us the number 1 pick. First time he actually kicked it properly too. Oh well we wont mind getting 2 or 3 so long as West Coast dont pick before us I suppose. Go the Egirls.

In other words you are reinforcing my point. You wouldn't say it to their faces after the game today would you? The fact is the boys didn't deserve to lose today and you could at least acknowledge their effort. I am not disputing the possible implications/benefits that could come out of the result (or sitting on the fence - as much as I am ashamed to say it this could be divine intervention) but at least show some appreciation for their effort/guts.

tbh I am not sure what to take out of games for the rest of this season apart from junior development which should be our priority PP or no PP.
 
I think the thread should be renamed to Dean Bailey, swapping morton for spencer and then having miller pinch hit in the ruck, we all know who he wanted to win.

  • Newton on the ball
  • Warnock and Frawley forward
  • Valenti on Brown
  • Johnson on Brown
  • Petterd kicks a goal then straight to the back half.
  • Lack of tight tag on Delidio...the list goes on.

No doubt I wouldnt say it to their faces, they played their hearts out
today - and were amazing, considering all our top players were out!
But at the end of the day, Melbourne Football Club need all the
guns - like Skully and co - that we can get atm, this will set us up
to not only compete with the big guns - but potentially dominate them.

We can take a lot out of the game..

Grimes is a freak.

We deserved to win today. The boys earned it, they gave everything they had. It's painful as hell that we didn't win this.
 
Warnock and Frawley in the forward line > PJ, Miller and Newton

Miller in the ruck = PJ in the ruck

Richmond were that bad that our tanking moves nearly didn't work.

Yep, nobody was on Cousins either and Miller in the ruck didn't set the world on fire. Bate also went back. On paper I would have thought Valenti on Brown wasn't too bad a match up. I can't beleive how out of sorts PJ is atm. In spite of all of this we nearly won! Are we on the way up or are the Tiges just crap? - a little bit of both I reckon.:)

Do you consider yourself a Melbourne 'supporter'? Because I don't. It is just plain pathetic that you sit there hoping for your team to lose.

Sadly there's plenty of 'supporters' just like you.

I was telling my brother (Carlton supporter) this today. I'd rather follow Fremantle than have a team full of number 1 draft picks who can't win games of footy. Fu.ck tanking.
 
I hope all these ppl who turn their noses to the long term planners , boo , hiss and spit on whatever players we get in the draft. Because folks on here who are celebrating the loss are merley saying 1 win now does nothing while a better list will take us places. So please folks from other boards F%^K off! With your losing breeds losing culture rubbish because it means nothing in the long run.

Carlton struggle due to having mediorcre plans not because they lost 1 game. That all it is people 1 game. Not a final. Just 1 game.
 
To those guys who are saying we deserved the win today - did you actually watch the game? It was terrible - sure the last 15 minutes or so was exciting but we hardly deserved to win. Game deserved to end in a draw if anything neither team played well at all.

Carlton are probably going to play finals footy this year - hardly a team that can't win...
