I thought he was quite good against the Roos. His pace on the wing was incredible.

It is possible to see Murdoch's upside. I think of Wojinski to some extent when I think Murdoch.
Wojinski always showed dash but was inconsistent in his early years. His kicking at pace was very erratic and decision making questionable at times. Part of the 2007 improvement (a very small part) was Wojinski settling over his kicks and delivering with accuracy. He was given more ball and became more consistent.
Murdoch seems to have hard hands to me. He is not as clean gathering the ball at ground level as others. It is affected by confidence I suspect.
He will improve this aspect with more games, and his confidence to run will improve . He has more upside than Wojinski so I am pleased we are pumping games into him. Could be a special in his 75 -150 games period.
Tend to agree a bit. Wojo was I think faster and more explosive but the advantage Murda has is that he is hitting some really good form and is 22. Wojo really took hold when he was 26-27. Don't get me wrong he showed a lot earlier but if Murda can get the consistency now that bodes REALLY well for the future.
Go Catters
He definitely needs to keep it up, otherwise he could be on the chopping block.
With McCarthy, Burbury (if he gets back), Smedts, Schroder, Sheringham, Stringer (maybe) the only ones that probably have a chance of pushing him out. I think if McCarthy is a ideal sub

My opinion.WTF?
Based on what exactly?

Think he has a good future with us-but agree re missing sitters. He should be used on the wing all the time using his speed to carry ball down, rather than hanging about forward line going for opportunistic goals. ( that he misses a bit)My opinion.
I think he could do a hell of a lot more then what he has done. (except on weekend)
Missing sitters that my grandma could kick doesn't help either.

Noticed in Kelly's post match interview he stated "you don't always know what you will get from Murda"...
It's pretty much on the mark. Still quite inexperienced but that breakaway pace out of congestion is gold.
Hopefully Murda can deliver a bit more of this over the next month or so... it would be handy.![]()
Looks stronger through the hips too than last year. Was able to break through the odd tackle on Sat night with a bit of a shimmy which was good to see. With Murdoch, Varcoe, Motlop and Christensen we now have a fair bit of leg speed in our team.
agree with Kelly's quote nohairandfair -
At this stage of his career I find it hard to see just how he'll develop.
His current output is pretty good; as a half-forward flanker you'd hope he'd eventually learn to sniff out a few more goals here and there; 17 from 18 games this year is merely ok.
His value as a marking target is pretty low at this stage; he *can* take a grab; I think he's potentially better overhead than say Steve Johnson, and I've seen him take maybe half a dozen semi-contested F50 marks - I suspect that part of his game has potential for growth; he's a good, rangy height and has a bit of spring. Overall, if he stays in the F50 you'd expect him to focus on crumbing and tackling more than leading and flying for marks, but it would be nice if he could present as a marking target a bit more often. I reckon it'll come.
The long-term question is whether or not Murdoch is able to develop to the point where he can play significant spells as a midfielder (probably specifically as an old-fashioned winger; although his 'inside' game has potential too; he's a strong, big body).
He has the pace, the long left foot kicks; but can he build the endurance, and does he have the nous and capacity to make good decisions regularly?
Anyway, unlike some few I think his 2014 has been very encouraging and I love watching him play when he's on.
