G'day all,
Not sure how much interest this one will drum up, but here's an article on Jordan Russell's plans moving forward since his delisting (couldn't see that it had already been posted, apologies if I overlooked something).

Personally thought he was unfairly maligned by a lot of our supporters, always seemed to be an easy target for people to vent their frustrations on as an ex-Blue; any mistakes he made were always magnified. Anyway, will jump back down off the soapbox / high-horse, here's the link for those interested:

Was fairly maligned by some supporters, however some games rightly deserved it. Wasn't good enough to be in our best 22, nor as a depth player, and like TD said was delisted for a reason. However, I don't harbour any negative feelings towards him and hope he does well with whatever he does in the future. I can't remember where I read it, but had read that he was a good mentor for some of the young backmen in our VFL last year.

People who actually vent their frustrations at him on Twitter need to pull their heads in tbh.

Well we got him for Tom Young. So Nothing Lost and Nothing Gained

I learned a couple of thing from J Russell.

1. Carlton supporters have no idea. We were told he was useless as he was a confidence player.
Rita Panahi calls "Bulldust".

2. He has very little awareness & slow football brain. And flogboys still have no idea.

He did his best and did not deserve the social media abuse. Delisting was the right call. Good luck to him.

Try telling that to the Western Bulldogs who were happy with Young's form in the firsts last year.

Would have been de-listed or rookied at the end of this year to make way for future prospects anyway. Irrelevant.

People who had a Go at Him on Twitter must be Pretty Pathetic:mad:

Tom Young looks capable of playing 150 games, while he cost nothing, he returned nothing.

150 game player for nothing equals fail.

Well Until the Dogs find someone better.

If he was Capable of Playing 150 games then why did the Pies Trade Him for Nothing then?

If Tom Young looked/looks capable of playing 150 games then Sean Rusling would've been capable of playing about 2000 (yes, two thousand, not a typo).

Tom Young was a poor mans John McCarthy, who incidentally I think would've been capable of having a career span similar to a Ryan Lonie type careerspan and use.

Normally agree 100% with your posts but this is wrong.

He did a job (an average job) in our pathetic backline this year.

Tom Young would have done no better or worse.

tom young for jordan russell was always a bad decision....apparently tom young is a big improver on the track this year......why did the pies put so much time into him, to trade him for nothing?

Some players will never work out at an initial club, there's not much you can do.

I would theorise that the move and experience of it all, can bring out a player's potential. Plus, a player might enjoy the other club more, the environment appeals more to them.

I always thought that Wellingham became a decent-good player when we were throwing him around, during trade week one year. I can't remember what year or who it was for, I sort of remember it might have been to North. But after that, he really stepped it up a notch.

If that's the final word on Young going to the Bulldogs then who am I to argue. Good riddance.
