Serious question - what do Dockers fans think of Josh Carr? He now ranks alongside Shane Crawford as having the most AFL Tribunal charges of any current player. His latest indiscretion means he now misses the next 3 games, so you have to ask whether his deliberate niggling tactics, and the kneeing of Gary Ablett was worth it.

Perhaps if Dockers had won on Friday you could argue Carr's tactics paid off, but...

Charges & convictions are two different things.
I like Josh' niggle, but he does go overboard sometimes.
BTW Ablett is a fairy for diving like a soccer player !!

Well i was at a function last nite for South Mandurah's Jay Wragg's family.
Kerr, M Carr, M Harvey and Dougie Hawkins were there. When Kerr and Carr were talking about the suspensions Dougie jumped up grabbed the mic and said "your F@#king joking, Carr got 3 weeks for that what on earth is our game coming to. There was nothing in it i just cant beleive it." with alot more explicits mind you.
So even a hall of famer was astounded at the result mind you he never mentioned anything about Kerr's :)

For a start the guy is an asset to any club - he shuts down playmakers, he gets under their skins mentally and when he is at his niggling best the team usually plays it's best footy. Supporters love it when they see their own players getting under their opponent's skin.

If he was an opposition player you would be branding him as a thug but if he was in your team you would love him to bits. Sure there is a price to pay in that he is more prone to suspensions, but it is worth it if it means he can display those above mentioned attributes.

Also Carrs tactics have been commonplace for years and years across teggers from every club. Carr however is one of the best in the business and one of the most high profile ones so he is naturally going to be in the spotlight a lot more.

What this whole saga has shown me is that Ablett is a player who doesn't like it when things are going his way. Its a natural thing given how dominant he has been as a player and how dominant the club has been over everyone else over the last 12 months. Ablett is not used to being shut down successfully by the Carr-like niggling and sledging and we saw how he reacted by milking theat free kick and report and through the confrontation with Crowley at the interchange bench.

All I have learned this week is that the Geelong supporters around here are nuff-nuffs. Try reading the 100+ Josh Carr thread that is going at the moment slick.

Geez I haven't heard more people squealing about Josh Carr since Josh dominated Kerr & Cousins in the Derby last year.

So hard not to love him....frustrating as hell at times and occasionally over steps the marks, but everyone loves a hard-nut (especially when they're on you're team!!!)
:D

I think we have found a replacement for the old pretty boy WC bunnies.

Suck it up Pussy cats, it's only going to get worse for cry baby Ablett next time. Now that Cuz and Judd have gone and Kerr is all on his lonesome, Josh has turned his attention to the Pussies!

Loved it :thumbsu: Keep it up Josh, just make it a little more subtle next time. And next time 'hard man' Chapman sits on you and injures you in the centre square, aim your knee at him instead ;)

he will be at the power next year. heard a rumour hes been talkin to managers

Bwaaaaaaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ... this topic has gone from ordinary to the completely ridiculous.

On topic, Josh is a legend. He gets cited often but also more often than not doesn't get suspended because the sorts of things he does when reported are borderline. He's not an out an out thug, he's a niggler who gets under opp players' skins - and he's good at it and any club who has a J.Carr type player loves them and most opposition fans hate (and usually misunderstands) them. Just ask any sensible Port fan if they would still want Josh.

This most recent infraction was def made worse by the new queen of diving in G.Ablett.Jnr. - Carr didn't so much cross the line, he just chose a particularly spineless target.

He's a renegade:D, he plays the game the way it should be played, hard with a little bit of dirty;), and he does it no matter how much the AFL try and sissify it.

I can't think of one thing he's done thats been really bad.

Seriously footy is a game for men, and the way some AFL players carry on these days they wouldn't last 2 minutes in the woop-woop amateurs. If someone knees you in the leg you line them up at the next contest, if someone stomp on your foot you stomp on theirs, you make your own justice on the footy field. If you're unhappy with the way Josh is niggling you niggle him back, or better yet get the biggest bloke in your side to line him up. The tribunal should only be for incidents that could cause serious injury, like king hits or hitting someone with their head over the ball.

The only reason players like Josh and Jordan Lewis should of been suspended is for being stupid, they should be aware of how soft the AFL is, but they should not be suspended for their little love taps.

HARDEN THE F__K UP AFL
RANT OVER

:p

Damn right, I'd have him back at Port in a heartbeat

Is there any substance about these whispers re Josh returning to Port, or are they just someone's wishful thinking?

Oh no they aren't just whispers.

He is coming back to Port in R17.

Just to remind you all how much you miss him :D

Now that Matt has retired, oh and congratulations on a fine career Matt, time for Josh to come home, just like it says in the "Go Down Moses" song. --

When Josh was in Docker's land
"Let my CARR go"
Oppressed so hard he could not stand
"Let my CARR go"

Go down, Chocco, way down in Docker's land
Tell old Harves, "Let my Carr go"

So Chocco went to Docker's land
"Let my CARR go"
To make old Harves understand
"Let my CARR go"

Thus spake the AFL, bold Chocco said,
"Let their CARR go",
If not, I'll strike your first Flag dead
"Let their CARR go"

If Port offerred anything half decent for Carr with Crowley coming on, Carr's age and where our list is at the moment - I would pull the trigger in a heart beat to be brutally honest.
