I know he has received a great deal of criticism in the lead up to today's game but today he played like a man on a mission. His crash and bash out of the backline was superb. Unlike many others in the team, his kicking was on the mark too. Always hit targets and got good distance. Some of his kick outs from full back were magic.

Nice way to answer his critics IMO.
10 kicks, 12 handballs, 6 marks, 1 tackle.

Yep I think he has possibly rediscovered his confidence. He was pretty good today and brilliant last week in the 2s. At the moment I would much rather him than DJ in the backline.

Well said :thumbsu:

let's face it we have a few who can shank a long kick so to have Hunt with his pin point 50m passes in the side makes a nice balance. I like him right now. He is tough and hard (built like a brick dunny), and his disposal is very good. Maybe not as quick as DJ and I would give DJ the edge on footy smarts. But Hunt was great today.

Joshy was nothing short of fantastic today :) Easily his best game of the year. His aggression was sublime and his decision making superb.

I was warm and tingly all day. Love ya Joshy.

yes, im a long time fan of mike, 1 of his kickouts 2 day went 60mtrs 2 king n hit him on the ***, it was glorious. i do love d.j, but recent form says that mike is a better option at the mo

is he?

I though Josh played a great game today too. :thumbsu:
I think Nathan should be dropped & to be replaced by Charlie..won't hurt to see how he goes before the end of the season.

Josh Hunt definitely deserves to keep his spot. Nathan on the other hand...

I think we should give Tomahawk or Charlie a run.

I would rather play Rooke at CHF than Charlie.

Charlie: Tried-Failed-Abort

Why antagonise the moderator by calling Hunt by this childish name?
Hunt was excellent today and I felt justified in coming to his defence in the past - agree there were shades of Josh Hunt 04.

Josh never really deserved to be dropped this year, but is obviously out of favour ie, is getting no favours from the club... wouldn't be suprised if he leaves the club if he doesn't get games. He had a better game today than I can recall DJ having for many seasons. A handy defender with much more than one string to his bow.

One bloke who should be on the wire is Wojcinski. I don't think he has been too influential in recent weeks... usually has better games when we dominate more maybe? I don't think his running alone warrants a spot, needs to work harder and find more of the ball... Why? He rarely marks a post in the opposition forward line... should get more of the footy.

One of his kick outs absoultely smacked of 04 Josh Hunt. Made me all warm and happy.

That would be the 70mtr bomb... Welcome back Josh, always knew you were just waiting to bring it back :thumbsu:

Always believed in him and still believe he will kick ass in finals.

Todays match was like a mini final, and the boys kept digging when we needed them to. :)

Good game. He needs to play at least as well as today every week because DJ is a more than capable replacement.

Not sure. I have criticised Hunt more than any other this year, but his form since his return has me thinking that he is ahead of DJ.

When Hunt is switched on and focuses on the basics, he is a good footballer. DJ has the heart and desire but I still have huge ????? on whether he can curb quality small forwards.

Yep, this is true. It's when he directs all his energy on the basics he is at his best. Amazing how these small keys go to make up the difference from a good day to an average day.

Yep, welcome back Josh.
Perhaps being 'out of favour' with the coaching staff (if he really is) could be something positive in the end that makes him work harder at being the footballer we know he has the potential to be. A bit of a challenge, a kick up the backside could turn out to be very important to not only his career, but the season of the Cats.

I knew you'd see the light :)

Played a very good game today; would probably go so far as to say he was in our best ten on the ground. Attacked the ball well, kicked well, did all the things that Hunt should be doing. Should be in the place next week I would imagine.

Yes I agree and am also hoping this is the case. When he's up and going he is well and truly in our best 22 I think. Loved the stab pass from the center that could have smacked either Mooney or S.Johnson on the chest. Love that $hit!!
