Do you put on a rubber glove when you shake peoples hands by any chance?
Not at all.

Can you have a civil conversation instead of the whole NORTH! thing you've got going?

The way a few of you are acting it will be just as mich fun to see him go to the Saints or else where before you just to see the melts.

He will go where he thinks his best chance is for a flag if the clubs are all offering around the same number.

Hopeful he still takes less to stay though not confident.

If it was all about "North in his blood" he wouldnt need a 9 mil 9 year contract to get down there.

Who ever he goes to will also have to do a trade and it wont be any of this "sucking it up" laughable business.

If we are going to go down the silly road then ill reply with the equally ridiculous we will send him to psd where you have no chance of him making it through to the Kangas.

If he's willing to go to North then you'd think that's code for every other club to make an offer. I'd be disappointed if my club wasn't balls deep in this.

I think Kelly should strongly consider going to a club he is confident will make top 4. If that is North, St Kilda, so be it. But if I were making that decision I wouldn't consider North Melbourne or St Kilda. I would want a more certain option. If Kelly takes the $$$ and lumbers around in a team that isn't vying for a flag - then it will be a wasted football career. My own club have impending retirements approaching (Riewoldt, Montagna), and there is no certainty as to how we will go after they move on. Armitage is injury prone, McCartin hasn't kicked on. North is probably in an even worse position.

Both teams have a definite need for a Kelly type player though and both have enough cap to top him up with another quality player. A lot can change for a side with genuine guns added. Carlton went from second last into the 8 with Judd and they were in way worst shape then North and St Kilda at the moment. You just never know.

Lol Planning on tanking?

Not that it will happen, as i said no club will offer the terms that they (any of them) are offering just to fluff the trade.

Both sides may have a need for Kelly - along with many other sides. But the question Kelly has to ask himself is which teams will be challenging at the pointy end of the season? If I were Kelly I'd be looking at sides that would challenge even before his signature. Which teams are trending upwards - clearly improving. Richmond would fit that bill. Melbourne perhaps? I don't think Kelly's decision is as clear cut as maximum $$$$. He is leaving a team that is more likely than most to challenge for a premiership in the next decade. I doubt Kelly just plays football for $$. He may need to think about sacrificing a little $$$ in order to play in a successful - premiership - team.

Then he'd stay at GWS.

im sure he would stay at gws for 600k+ then go to brisbane for a mill. no offence

May be that's the "under the table" deal we are working with GWS ;) create a competitive offer out of nowhere and put some pressure in negotiation table.

Lol you could be right. Sounds more convincing then some other posts on here. GWS would be planning something

He'd have literally no reason to go there. It's not as though he's only got 1 or 2 suitors; there will be 4 or 5 Victorian clubs trying to put together an offer by the end of the year.

We have half the list unsigned. And the cap going up by 2 million. We can produce the highest "Big Bang-godfather-holysh1t can't be true" offer ever and build our list around him.

Plus we have pick 1 - considering the strike rate we have with first picks, happy to palm it off to GWS along with another first and collect 2-3 players who can improve our list. Win, win, win everywhere. :D

That's all well and good but how often does the best young player in the competition sign with the worst team for more money and away from home?

He's still going to get $1mil a year for almost 10 years at the Victorian club of his choice. He can't lose.

If Kelly can see the future then he probably made his decision two years ago.

So do you think Riewoldt has had a wasted career?

We would welcome him at Richmond. He would fit right in and may even take a slight pay cut to play in an exciting team in front of 85,000 crowds.

Yeh it's a weird one re St Kilda v North. Neither project as top 4 teams, although St Kilda will tell you they're well ahead in their list composition. I think North have set themselves up well this year and have talent all over the ground. Probably don't have the depth of talent but have decent system and are well coached. With some savvy trading they could be a bolter in the next few years.

Even a team like Essendon would be silly not to table on offer and they've got a pretty good spread of gun players.

you club wont even pay dusty what his worth lol. Kellys all yours.....

This is the most amazing thing in the whole saga.

How can you pay Yarran $800K and then offer Martin an initial $730K?

It defies all logic. If he does leave then Richmond will only have themselves to blame.
