Does anyone know whats wrong with Josh Krueger now. I am a big fan of Krueger coz i think he is a major talent and could be a great player for the crows but unfortunately time is running out.
It sounds to me like his back is no better than last year and if that the case i think the crows will delist him at the end of the year which would be a shame. Hopefully he can get back and show everyone what he is capable of.

Unfortunately it's getting to the stage where we have to wrap him in bubble wrap  . He needs to perform soon because if he does not cement a place in the side by the end of the season he'll only be given 7 more years to prove himself if Perrie is anything to go by!

But seriously I hope he gets out on the Park and becomes a great player for us! :)

**Awaits Stiffy18's reply!**

I've turned.
he's always injured and my lowe analergy is no longer relevant.
He should be very happy that there is not a mid season draft.
Shuback has the same bloody injury now also :(
It bugs me no end when we get these types and look forward to them so much ,,,,,,,and then ,,,,, nothing.
We so badly need a forward target a forward crumber and a roaming/leading forward. we recrutied Kruger, schuback and watts for these exact spots and they can't ever get themselves right FFS
A injury is an excuse for a limited time only, after a while if they haven't got themselves right then thats usually because of lack of commitment.
(might be a bit harsh on Watts)

Is JK injured again, didn’t he play for Glenelg vs. West Adelaide? What has he done and how long is he out for or is it still his reoccurring back injury

And yes IMO it was a bit harsh on Watts.

Krueger was a late withdrawal from the Glenelg side on Saturday. In the paper states that he has a back injury.

Hopefully just the club being ultra cautious as there are probably games where a lot of players are playing with some form of back complaint but not Kruegers history of complaints.

He has not been a 100% for a little while, I was very surprised and disappointed to a certain extnent at Glenelg as he has been carrying a bit of a shoulder injury and they still played him.

I know this doesnt relate to his latest injury but with a histoy like his you would think they would protect him a little bit. Their solution was to play him as a back pocketer, I watched the game against south and he just looked lost back there. I dint see the point in risking him.

You appear to know him, does he have a history of injuries or is this just a spell he's going thru.

Is his back getting better?

Well every time he starts getting some match fitness he does the back again. Great talent, great build, great size but just keeps breaking down.

I am sure its more frustrating for him than we could possibly imagine but he needs to string some games together and get a string of games where he plays well and stays injury free. IF he keeps breaking down, keeping him on would be a big risk. Maybe we could do what we did with Stevo this year. Having him do a pre-season with us and if he doesn't break down give him a 1 year deal and hope for the best. If he stays sound and shows some signs keep him. If he doesn't them delist him at the end of the 2006 season.

Players of his size and ability don't grow on trees but the more he is on our list the more he is becoming another Ryan Fitzgerald :(

I do know him, but I have not been friends with him for that long and I dont see him that often.

I think he picked up the back injury in pre season training in 04, that kept him out for a while then he came good and I think he hurt his ankle from memory and that finished off his season.

The back injury is a re-occuring injury, he played all the trial matches then had to pull out of round 1 I was surprised when I read this in the paper.
He is injury prone but as Stiffy said, if he can come good he will be worth while pick, however that IF seems to be getting bigger and bigger.

He hurt his back in the first inter-club trial match - was it at Strathalbyn?? - and has been rooted ever since.

A bad back can be a permanent thing, so we may never see this lad play in a Crow's guernsey. I hope he can get over his, as I think he does have a lot to offer.

I heard today that the back problem occured last week while he was doing some weight training. He thought he would be OK to play for GFC but the Crows medicos thought otherwise. Hopefully he will be playing this week.

Yeh right, until he bends over to tie his shoe laces.

Time to bite the bullet on this kid. Put him on the long term injury list, promote Hinge or Nye or Griffen onto the senior list & delist him at the end of the year. We have too many broken down crocks as it is.

At what point does a club give up on a player? I dunno? Each case is different.

Let's not forget, that Freddy has only been on our list for 1 season + 1 AFL round.

At the end of the day, our medicos instead of our coaching panel may have to make the final call on him.

I would say it's time to give up on him when he is 21 turning 22 this year, has played virtualy no senior football at any level & has a chronic back injury.

Time to cut our losses.

i wouldnt give up on him yet - the AFC medicos didnt want him to play last week in line with their more cautious approach with injured players this year

players such as Krueger dont come around too often (especially to the AFC)

certainly his future will have to be considered at the end of the season along with about at least a dozen other players but given his talent i'm prepared to give him more time than others

You are not exactly going to struggle to find other players to give the heave at the end of the year if you decide to give Krueger another year.

True, but if Freddy doesn't play tyoo many games this year due to injury, we may as well resign ourselves that he is another Bowen Lockwood.

I know where you're comin' from Kane, but in fairness to Bowen, he did at least play 50 games including one very good one against us in 1997 (when he booted 4).

Me hopes Freddy will do that in a Showdown one day! ;)

And no, my name is not Bowen.

How do we know if he has talent he rarely ever plays. If he continues to be riddled with injuries he will be delisted at the end of 2006. At the end of 2005 Clarke and possibly M Stevens will retire. S Stevens and Smith should be given the boot. The other 2005 delistings will come from the group of Massie, Ladhams, Shirley, Skipworth, Schuie ( sigh), Bock, Begley and Bode. Krugs should be safe in 2005. BTW if he is delisted you can add 2003 to our other failed draft/trade years.

Josh Krueger played in the reserves for Glenelg on the weekend and played well without doing anything special. Kicked four goals all in the first half and most probably took about five marks. I thought it was a good first up game for him but he still has heaps of improvement to go. He went off the ground half way through the last quarter, Im not sure whether this was for the blood rule or whether he got injured again. He took a mark and then an eagle player fell on top of him so hopefully he was just resting for the last part of the game and not injured.

Heard some interesting/disappointing news on Kruegs the other day.
Apparently he has 4 weeks to pull his head in or he will be pretty much delisted at the end of this 4 week period.
Obviously he cannot be technically delisted but he will no longer be training with the crows and will spend his entire time at Glenelg.
Some stuff has been happening off the field, nothing to serious but NC is not happy and has put Kruegs on notice.
