Back up the truck a minute and have another read, or at least understand his posting on this issue over a great deal of time.

There is no bait here at all. Only disgust.

I don't lay bait. I shoot.

Clearly I've missed the quotes that've p!ssed you and others off. I'm sure they were there but I haven't looked for them.

I can't see the point in regurgitating old gripes to chew them over again. I'd rather not have to trawl through another sh!t fight to be honest.

Some great stuff has come out of this and other threads. But it's hard to get the best out of it when it turns into a sh!t fight.

I'd prefer it didn't. Hence my last post.

It wasn't regurgitated. It was repeated, in his usual snide manner, and then given tacit agreement by a mod. Hence the reaction by me, and others, on the board and via PM.

This racist shit has got to stop and stop now.

We have this pillock and another idiot questioning Alex Pearces' aboriginality because he doesn't appear black enough.

Probably not the time for a light hearted comment, but it's never stopped me before, but I had to lol at that sentence as Jon Griffin kept quiet at Adelaide about being aboriginal for that very reason. I remember reading that McLeod and Johncock questioned him when it finally emerged he was indigenous as to why he never told anyone and Jon apparently replied "look at me, do I look black? I look whiter than most vikings!" I also remember reading that Mcleod and Johncock laughed in agreement.

I didn't read the first few comments so I can't really say, but on it's own just questioning if someone's Aboriginal just doesn't seem racist to me.

That is an absolute lie. Pillock I have never questioned his aboriginality you arr making this up. Stop lying.

Once again I am not racist half my family on my fathers side are aboriginal as I have told you before. You don't like me that's fine but stop lying.

Yeah mate, it wasn't written in that context. Another poster, another thread.

Learn to read. I said another poster talked about Alex Pearce.

Anyway, you have protection to continue with your snide shit. And it appears that some here are unaware what constitutes racist remarks, nor can they refer to past history on a topic.

We shall see.

I think technically you did say he was talking about Pearce, but I think it was probably a grammatical error and not your intention.

I'll accept that and apologise. It was not my intention.

This is getting f##ing boring.

Bad luck for you. This week, in particular, is a time where racism, in all of its forms, needs to highlighted, ridiculed and stamped out.

Apparently I have a problem admitting when I'm wrong, or just stay silent.

Nah.

To be honest, I'd developed that perception recently... which is why I wanted to make sure the post got the like it deserved. Maybe my perception was wrong, maybe it wasn't, but either way the post was a good one.

There are others on this forum that could learn how to harden up a bit and put the hand up when they're wrong.

I didn't see the posts slicedndiced is referring to, but any reference to determining aboriginality by fractions is a relic of our colonial days and would understandably be upsetting to some people. I was around when that system was being phased out and had access to files from decades when it was in use and it was not pretty.

In my understanding, an aboriginal person is one who identifies as such and is accepted by other aboriginal people as such and can in special cases include people who have no aboriginal ancestry at all.

Having said that, none of it has a lot to do with Josh, apart from being part of an overall discussion on the issues he might face to realise his full potential at Fremantle.

This thread is 30 odd pages long and on several occasions has been really thoughtful, intelligent, insightful and expanded everyone's understanding of the predicament of aboriginal people in society and Josh at Freo.
The question of whether people have been over sensitive when discussing The Flash has been covered from many angles. This week in particular but also previously RTB has remarked on the need for greater understanding, compassion and sensitivity toward the lot of aboriginal people, those within the AFL system, and Josh.He has explained that being sensitive to the circumstance does not mean being being soft;simply increasing your understanding of important factors.
The entire AFL industry is attempting to be more sensitive to the context of its aboriginal participants;most particularly this week as GilG has pointed out far more articulately than I will. It's really not that hard a concept. What Doc Walley says in yesterday's smoking ceremony about inclusion is central and important.
Similarly with mightymouse75 's question is Sonny being a racist "..by calling up a slacker?" the issue has been covered from several angles in the previous pages;but it's probably worth mentioning that Sonny didn't actually say that. What he said was that Josh was happy to work really hard intermittently and that he had to learn to do it consistently. He went on to say that it was exactly the same adjustment to relentless 24/7 application and discipline that he had to make himself.
So if he turns into what Sonny has in terms of obsessive application we'll no doubt have another champion.
As RTB says over and over they live in an abnormal environment.
As a support base we are asked to support them. This week the AFL focus is on appreciating and celebrating the cultural identity and history of Aboriginal Australia.
I doubt there's too many who do not see the value in the symbolism and genuine nature of the gesture.RTB points out that the AFL are and want to have a role as groundbreakers and torchbearers in changing old racist stereotypes and attitudes. For some it may require a greater effort than for others but surely nobody doubts its worth.
Anyway tl;dr
