Not too worried at all. I think it will be Ward's next contract that will set him up if he fulfils his potential.

I could see a 2-3 year extension coming up pretty shortly.

My boy and he ain’t leaving.

Has had a super season so far, last few weeks since being a starting midfielder he’s been unreal.

He’s just so clean and damaging. Has great handskills, explosive and quick and he always has the composure to hit targets. Beautiful kick of the footy, think he’s the #1 rated kick in the competition currently.

He will get a pretty good contract.

Doubt he’d wanna go to West Coast. Seems like a Melbourne boy through and through.

Said in the post game interview tonight he’s got 2 exams over the bye period so he doesn’t get the chance really to refresh.

There was also a story on him I believe 2 years ago about his schooling. Doing 2 or 3 degrees and his ATAR was above 99.

Laws and Politics, Philosophy and Economics double degree.

He has only just recently started fully believing in himself which has been his major improvement. Not necessarily a talent or effort issue but just self belief.

Now he’s exploding and using his pace, cleanliness and handskills in tight, his damaging left foot when he’s in space and a strong work rate.
