News of a new New Order album would have sent me into a state of restless anticipation once.

But their last two albums (and most of their side project stuff) left me pretty cold.

I'll still buy it, but it's case of hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

Okay, I take back my comments on "Get Ready". It might have taken me a few years, but I really do love the album now.

So, another thank you goes out to IDGAF, mighty_west, and co.

"Real Life" and "Secondhand daylight" are now available as a double CD and quite cheap($10-$15 depending on where you go).
I have to say however that hearing "Second daylight" again for the first time in years left me a little uninspired (in my opinion). To be fair I suppose playing it straight after playing "Real Life" is not a fair comparison. "Real Life" remains one of the truly great LPs of that period and still sounds fantastic, and "Shot by both sides" is still one of the greatest tracks of all time.

Good work ressurecting this thread Shinboners ;)

No worries pal , that is the whole beauty of this forum for mine .

It is great when you share news and views with like minded people who share the same passion for music in general .

There have been a few albums and bands that have slipped through my cracks and i have been wrapped to go and buy albums myself purely on the say so of punters here .

I do hope the new album is a grower because it is still a little flat for mine but i will keep persisting .

To Krisholio - very intrigued that you left " Disorder " out of your top ten .

Would like to hear your reason why ?

theres only so many you can fit in, it would have been in the next five after that for sure

By the way the Warsaw bootleg that has been doing the rounds over the years (firstly on vinyl then on CD) has been released on a seemingly official CD and at a decent price.

Track listing........

The Drawback
Leaders of men
They walked in line
Failures
Novelty
No love lost
Transmission
Living in the ice age
Interzone
Warsaw
Shadowplay
(the above were recorded at Arrow Studios May 1978)
As you said
(Recorded at Britannia Sound March 1980)*
Inside the line
Gutz
At a later date
The Kill
You're no good for me
(Recorded at Pennine Sound Sudios - July 1977)

* Quite Obviously not Warsaw.

I know Missing Link here in Melbourne have it and Big Star in Adelaide as well. It was good value ($22 or so) and worth getting for the version of Transmission alone.

Big Star in Adelaide as well.

I've got plenty of friends who hail from Adelaide and they all rave about Big Star records - apparently in terms of what the shop has in stock, it craps all over the indie shops (well, the few that are left) here in Melbourne.

Have become a massive fan of Interpol over the last year or two .

Given the very strong comparisons that have been made Joy Division , i was wondering what the other punters thought of this band ?

The first album " Turn On the Bright Lights " was labelled almost derivitive but was critically acclaimed , whilst the second album " Antics " had seen them develop more of thier own style .

If you guys are not really familiar them then i strongly reccomend you give them a go .

This week marks the 25th anniversary of Ian Curtis`s suicide

Triple J are marking this with a Kingsmill special featuring Joy Division which can be heard from 5 o`clock onwards on Saturday ( 14th )

Should be good listen

12. What is your rarest New Order CD or Vinyl?

Possibly the Ceremony or Temptation 7's. Had to really hunt around for both of these.

Okay kids. There is yet another New Order compilation out in the shops. It's called "Singles", and you can guess what is on the two CDs.

It has the original 7" versions of Ceremony, Everything's Gone Green, and Temptation - I believe it's the first time that the pre-Gillian Ceremony has made it onto CD, and it might be the same for the other two tracks mentioned. If you're like me, you'll probably have everything else on CD.
