What is all the fuss about Chris Judd?
Sure he made the move to carlton, but why should we pickup a newspaper 4 times a week and read about just how great carlton are?

Why do carlton supporters insist that chris judd is going to win them games, as well as make the finals. Carlton are destined to finish last again.

What i find increasingly funny is that carlton supporters and people in the media jump up and down about how 'juddy' got 20 possies in a nab challenge game, yet fail to expose the fact that many of them were in-effective or turnovers.

As for channel 10, they advertise the 'BLOCKBUSTERS' of the year in high-definition, blockbusters such as the ANZAC day match between collingwood and essendon, the state-of-origin match, the AFL Grandfinal series, and....CARLTON vs RICHMOND in round 1.

It's much better hearing about the number one player in the comp and how he is going after surgery and change of club ....than picking up a newspaper and reading what clubs are in dire offield trouble due to their players taking illicit drugs .

Carlton are a pretty big club in the scheme of things demanding a lot of attention over the years.

I agree it has been overplayed but it's the off season and it is one of the biggest moves of a player of his quality in a long time.

carlton certainly won't be finishing last, with or without Judd.

I don't think the papers have been saying how great they are at all, rather that they are on the improve, both on and off the field, although the on field is still to be proved.

As for the Blockbusters, that is because it is the first game of the year, with 2 traditional rivals and while they both might be struggling in recent seasons, ladder wise, it is still a significant game as the loser will have the blow torch applied and the winner gains confidence as they head into round 2.

There are certain Vic clubs that will always achieve Blockbuster status, even when their on field form doesn't warrant it and that is what tradition is all about.

Judd is the best midfielder in the comp, but some of the articles written about him are unbelievably hyped. M. Robbison's one the other day in the practice match was a bit over the top IMO, and I was thinking the same thing about the media and C. Judd.

But the brand name 'Judd' has developed a lot over the years through media hype and it sells papers, but it no doubt leads to him being over-rated and over-hyped.

He's a gun player, and the best at what he does in the competition, but he is not that far ahead of the other gun players, which the media would lead you to believe.

What you read in the papers is what sells. Carlton are a huge club and Judd has a massive profile.

Also, you seem a little confused as to what a blockbuster is so i will give you the definition:

good player, good public persona, mega hot GF, lack of drama involving sex, drugs, or corruption so he gets a run.

even st kilda v adelaide doesn't have the long term soap effect of judd.

The FACT is that even as underdone as he looked, and as far below his best as he was........he still looked, maybe second to Aker, to be the best mid on the ground.

Read the play well, evaded tackles, kicked a goal.........moved unlike any other mid out there.
