Have the board (like the players) got too far ahead of themselves and seen the glory of september in july? If Grant Thomas' contract was up for renewal at the end of this year, wouldn't it be better value on the investment the club is making, to wait until the smoke had cleared and the whole tenure taken into account.

Coaches don't get re-signed on one season alone, I recognise that, but lets say the saints finish out of the top 4, then fail to make it past the first week of finals. After dominating the competiton, the board would be entitled to ask questions as to why nothing or what was done to arrest the slide or form and confidence.

It was well documented that this rise to fame has been perhaps a little premature, which is antoher reason the board has to assess if Thomas is the right coach to lead this team to greatness. Now I haven't said he's not the right man, I just hope we don't blow this chance on account of having someone already there.

What a shock, we lose a few and the knives come out for the coach.

Read the post knob, and you'll see I don't ask for him to be sacked. I merely questioned the timing of his re-signing. Why shouldn't we as supporters of a club that has given us nothing (lets be realistic) in 30 years, be entitled to feel confident in the direction of the club with the talent at our disposal. If it was up to you, would you be quite happy to let someone not quite up to it mis-manage things and allow us to just gurgle down the toilet?

Oh wait we don't want to be actually seen as professional, and tolerate mediocarate do we?

wait until 500pm saturady, if the saints blow this one there maybe lynching mob after him

we've turned into essendon, flat track bullies.

we lose a few on the trot to good sides like Port, Melbourne, Sydney, but when the opportunity comes up we can really belt Hawthorn and Richmond.
