I'm pretty sure some of the Hawks did it in 1991. I am probably wrong though.
Edit: I have a distinct memory of Dermot Brereton wearing an opposition clubs jumper during a medal presentation of some sort.
they use to do it after every gf back in the day. of course the big v and the dream team did it ;ast year. i felt sorry for the vic's getting that jersy after the game
you're thinking of the 1988 panasonic cup grand final...he was in a geelong guernsey...

Yeah, it's been a while, but it's understandable that they don't do it anymore - I'd be pretty pissed off as a jumper sponsor if the team I supported decided they'd pull on the oppositions on the dias.

unfortunately i'd suggest that's the reason they don't do it anymoreYeah, it's been a while, but it's understandable that they don't do it anymore - I'd be pretty pissed off as a jumper sponsor if the team I supported decided they'd pull on the oppositions on the dias.

Yeah, fair dinkum I didn't realize that had been done in Aussie Rules before? Thought it was just a Soccer thing. Also agree with the poster that mentioned Sponsorship rights, The winning team players have hats on there heads within 2.4 seconds of the Final Siren.
Every player has atleast one backup for every match of the year, so i wouldn't be suprised if they get 3 jumpers for the granny. Would look weird if someone gets two blood rules and has to come on in a high number jumper in a grand final, like harry taylor last year came out wearing 85 against melbourne.i dunno when it stopped but if i won a premiership i wouldnt be giving my jumper away, thats just stupid

As a Magpies fan, I personally don't mind the jumper swapping tradition.
I look at the photographs of the presentations after the 1955, 1956, 1960, 1964 & 1966 Grand Finals, and it looks like Collingwood won!

89 State of Origin, he was in a South Australian jumper afterwards.
