I can honestly say I did not see much of Carlton this year and although I had heard many positive things about Simpson since the day he was drafted I was suprised by his performance.

He was one of Australia's best (which wasn't a huge suprise) and was very physical and determined to impose himself on the game. I think this is an extremely good sign for Carlton and shows how far he has developed since he fell to the forties in his draft because of his size and being an outside player despite the wraps.

Was this physical side as evident in his game this year?

Started a similar thread when i first got on bigfooty about three years back.. but was about a VFL game.

ANyone who had watched him back then would of been able to tell you he had more than enough talent to do what he is now. Still dont think he is anywhere near what he can be if he keeps working hard.

If Kade gets a right foot and continues to develop will be a superstar along side murph and co.

Lets hope he also helps out Jordan Russell: WHo is also of very slight ilk, quick, smart and skillful (in the vfl).

But Kade does have a right foot. I have seen him use it many times, and it is just as good as his left. The problem is, he doesnt feel as confident with it yet. This so is the case for his goal kicking, especially those on the run from the left forward flank. Just give the boy some more time and he will be a star.

Thats exactly right clayblue, his right foot has always been as good as his left. For some reason he just isnt as confident on it, so as this develops he will become a star. Not many players can become stars without a right foot - and he dosnt really have it yet due to confidence levels.

Yes, i no, everyone can say james hird dosnt have one - majority of gun midfielders will though!

Scotty Lucas!!!
No right foot...end of story.

Im more worried about the goal kicking from Simmo. A couple of times this year, running forward from wing on prefered left side. Takes a running shot from 30-40 out...he just cant seem to get them. Needs to go out to the park for a kick :D .

Can lack a little penetration with his kicking, although I suspect that this might be more to do with his build. Still, should form a pretty formidable midfield combination with Murphy, Walker, Blackwell and dare i say Gibbs.

he might be slight in build but simmo is one of our most courageous players. he never takes a backward step.
