Our top five midfielders all have more posessions this year than Kane Johnson.

Considering most of them have spent a lot of time in the forward line I think that's a good result for us.

The fact that Torney has been so good has also really negated the loss of Kane.

When he come backs to Footy Park I think Kane deserves a very good welcome as he was a great player for us for years.

No booing please.

I won't be booing Kane as he gave great service to the club ... but I hope he doesn't have a BOG performance against us!

I was not upset at the time we traded him as we had/have the midfield depth. It was all about team balance & getting the best available tall forward once we knew he wanted to go home.

JT has exceeded by expectations too which is a bonus.

That surprises me. I thought Johnson was going quite well for Richmond. By top five I assume you mean McLeod, Ricciuto, Goodwin, Edwards and Bickley. I'm very surprised Goodwin has had more disposals.

I won't be booing him, not from the lounge room anyway.

Incidently I didn't hear any booing for Ronnie on the weekend, although I think the tv said there was some, it wasn't prevalent on the side of the ground I was on.

I must admit that I thought that Johnsons loss will be felt. I an very happy so far. As you said Jars our midfield has been performing as well as last year and Jason Torney has slotted in nicely and commands huge respect from people in Adelaide. I think its been a win win for all concerned.

I didnt realise Id miss Johnson all that much until I viewed all my tapes from last year ( during the off season ).

I doubt whether anybody expected Torney to slot in so well. Its as if he's been a Crow for years!!

I always remember Macca19 comparing Torney to Ben Hart - he was right.

If I had a beer for every mark he has taken in defence when its been needed ...Id be pis*ed.

The mummy's boy has not been missed at all as far as I'm concerned, I was glad he left and that the remaining players on our list want to play for the Adelaide football club. We always had the players to cover his position and it was never really a serious concern.

I won't be booing Kane during the game, but I will be enquiring whether he needs me to call mummy for a nappy change.

I could never, ever boo Kane Johnson. Whilst dissapointed he left us, I would rather he do that than play with us unhappy and not giving 100%

He is a terrific player, a premiership player and for that I will always hold him in high regard. He gave us great service and I cheer everytime I see him on TV. He can play well every week - in fact I want him too - I just don't want him to play well against us!

True. But id say only Riccuito and Mcleod have been better than him this year. On par with Edwards.

I have no qualms with St Kilda fans referring to Begley as a mummy's boy, or Hawthorn fans previously with D. Jarman, etc. They are entitled to feel that way.

Of the highest order dezzmo! Didn't bother me in the slightest that he left, he's a good player but if he doesn't want to play for Adelaide and would rather be close to mummy and play for Richmond, good luck to him. All the best, adios, don't send us a postcard

Adelaide released Matty Collins for similar sorts of personal reasons and these cases are quite different from the Angwins, gilligans and to a lesser extent Kane Johnson's of this world.

He has certainly seemed more effective than the stats say. Must say he was pretty ineffective against West Coast a couple of weeks back. But so were all the Tigers really. Nonetheless Richmond have certainly benefited from the trade.

I guess Kane is finding out what getting tagged week in and week out is all about.

Its hard to say if you havn't seen Richmond's games

Idiots like Walls on the Couch make comment on games they havn't even seen.

I have only seen about one of Richmonds games this year

That included the last quarter of the game against Saint Kilda which was just terrible - a mistakeathon.

Those stats are interesting.

When you look at natural ability, the one that deserves all the credit is Bickley. Doesn't play full games, not blessed with as much natural talent, and wins hard balls. Top effort Bicks.

I've seen virtually all of Richmond's games on free to air TV or Fox Footy, and Johnson has had a pretty good season mixed with some quieter games in more recent times as he has started to be more heavily tagged. Not unlike Goody really with the stats putting the truth to that.

One thing is definite though, Johnson uses the ball infinitely better than Goody. I didn't realize just how well he does use it until I started watching him in a Richmond guernsey.

Spot on Stiffy as Goodwin hasn't had his usual influence on games even though he has been racking up plenty of possessions. Dare I say it Robert Harvey-like.

For all those saying "I won't be booing Kane" I should bloody hope so!

He was a fine servant for us for 6 or 7 seasons and he made a fine contribution to our two Premierships.

He left the club on good terms and we got plenty in return for him.
