I still believe that he will come good. When he was a junior he had great disposal what happened? Do geelong teach bad disposal, i mean look whats hapening to mooneys goalkicking

He'll most likely be included against Richmond. He's had 36, 47 and 41 possessions the last 3 weeks in the seconds. Much is made about his disposal on this forum, but anyone who watched the alleged footskills of Joel Corey or Corey Enright especially last week will soon discover that he's not the worst, and he is far from alone. Deserves a much, much longer run in the seniors than what he's been given so far.

Has genuine pace too. Always a nice thing to compliment Wocjinski off half back.

Byrnes has had so many chances and has done nothing. When Tenace is brought in, plays a fair game and gets dropped the next game.

Got to agree, he had a good pre season Byrnes but im not sure what happened, he should be dropped and Tenace brought in. I will be very disappointed if Hunt comes in before Tenace.

Bomber has his favourites like Gardiner, Johnson and Mackie seems not to like Blackjack.

Under 18's - he would have looked better disposal wise as the pressure isn't as intense and obviously the lesser standard.

i disagree, his first season his disposal wasnt that bad. i can even remember him running down a flank toward goal and slotting a goal from 30-40m out close to the boundary. i think it is his confidence.

Totally agree - his confidence is shot - and will continue to be if he comes in and out of the seniors like he has been (plus being benched for long periods of time during the game).

Bomber has stated that he wants players to take risks etc this year and be confident in their abilities and their team mates. But that can be a two way street. Bomber needs to take the "perceived" risk of playing Tenace in the seniors for a good stretch and just leave him on the ground and let him develop and gain confidence. Let him pick up where he left off after his first year (remember that goal against West Coast at subi - pace, class and a whole lot of confidence).

His disposal is still crap. Nothing has changed. No good. Prismall/Stokes are way better. Kane is a hack I'm sorry to say. One of the worst kicks in the league.

Bullshit. Kane did quite well today. Give him the chances that others in the team have had to prove themselves.

He had a couple of dodgy ones early where they ballooned up to the disadvantage of his teammates. As the game wore on his kicking became very good. He started to put som purpose into his kicks and not try and caress them.

Hopefully the confidence is on its way!

Now Enright on the other hand...................don't know how he had 14 effective kicks. I must have been watching another game.

Kane did okay (in the sense that he looks to have improved in some areas), but it was nothing special. I guess the problem is, with alot of guys knocking on the door for selection outside of Sunday's 22 (I'd be guessing we're thinking of bringing in Harley, Rooke, possibly King [rightly or wrongly on all three for varying reasons], Prismall, Stokes...), Kane's game still puts him under pressure to retain his spot, but in his case, it's times like these that the coaching staff need to retain him for his own good. Pretty much, he needs (and maybe deserves, in the face of the faith shown in others) a decent run in a good string of games.

That all said though, it was nice to see him running around properly (in the 'running to the right places, at good times, and generally being active' sense), which is an improvement in itself from previous form. Still alot of work to be done in that area though.

His kicking still let him down though. His decision-making wasn't that bad (he's certainly taking his time to assess now), but his execution is still crap. Far too many deadballs and floaters. On that note, I'm not sure if half back is his spot, for pretty much the same reasons as the Wojcinski case. I know we've gotten to the stage where, pretty much, we need to try anything and everything to see what we can squeeze out from him, but I'm skeptical, at best. Can always be proven wrong though.

He has been picking up 40+ disposals a game in the VFL playing halfback, so why not leave him there for a while?

Because:

i - Our defence is already crowded with players with handy offensive, attacking games, but questionable defensive prowess (and even in Kane's case, he's got to be questionable as far as having a handy offensive game).

ii - His kicking is still sub-par. At the very least, tumbly long deliveries to the forward line > tumbly long deliveries from the back half to the middle of the ground.

iii - The biggest problem of Kane's is not getting the footy (and on another note, I'm pretty interested to know who actually went and saw these 40+ possession games that Kane produced. Not to be a total kill-joy, but I'd be much more interested as to what he did with those possessions, how he worked, covered ground, broke lines etc).

After viewing the replay last night I was eagerly awaiting the pitiful disposal of Corey Enright and Kane Tenace. At the completion of the game I was still trying to work out WHAT BLOODY GAME YOU IDIOTS ARE WATCHING!!

Enright played a reasonable game and his disposal was fine (especially the handball over the shoulder on the wing in the last). Tenace kicked a floater early in the second and turned one over in the third quarter but apart from that he was fine. The fact that moments after he turned it over, he backed into a pack and punched the ball clear of the oncomming Tiger traffic, shows that he is learning how to do the hard things as well.

Tenance will keep his spot and rightly so. Corey Enright will play too and so will Cameron Ling. He's the man that still doesn't deserve to be in the middle according to most experts on here but has been one of our best and most consistant players all year.

I would think that with Chappy's injury, he will be the only out. Stokes will come back in after a BOG performance in the scoobies.
