Re: Kyabram District FL

Great news that big tony. Old Shamus would touching 40 now. But we are talking about a bloke with exceptional talent who finished the game long before he shoulda. With this year marking 20 years since the 87 flag shall have to get back and watch a game.
Heard in Benalla over the weekend re-unions planned at VT for 82,87 & 90, I'm sure someone at the Club could tell you more!

Re: Kyabram District FL

Don't count Rushy out either I hear Trevor Perry is off the grog and the smokes (that his mate Mick Callen got him hooked on in high school!!) in a bid to secure his first McNamara Medal & apparently Steve Rassmussen has increased his duties wicket keeping this season for Rochester United actually running in to collect the ball at the stumps instead of getting the fielders to throw it straight back to the bowler!!

I'm not sure who you have been speaking to about Stanhope Trev you have come out with some big ones over the last week. The Mark McQueen call had the locals planning a come back Mardi Gra to welcome him back into town & care to fill us in on this Johnson?

Hey OTM - went up to visit Mick last weekend and he has very interesting stuff growing up there, I tell ya.. Nah, I was off the mark with my Johnson call, the player I'm actually thinking of came top 5 in the HDFL league medal last year.. Can't remember his name, but Johnson I'm pretty sure did win Mounts B&F and is currently doing an electrical apprenticeship with past Stanhope 3rd's superstar, Dean Wallace.

Also, I don't think it's been posted yet, but apparently Ardy have signed Willy Saunders, Boozer Davies AND leigh Kellett from Murch! Puts them right back in the mix for back-to-back flags!

Re: Kyabram District FL

Where did you get that from Tav?
I heard that Kellet has lost a few pounds and was going great guns in the preseason at the shepp swans.
Also heard Boozer would be staying in Melbourne.

Yeah Kellett has been cleared to the swans, so unless he is going to put in a clearance from there already! Sanders' clearance is in again though.

Re: Kyabram District FL

I'm very surprised with all big footy members about there being little hype about violet town this year. Premiership Season on the way boys:thumbsu:

bonge, who is going to hold up VT's defence, they have bodycoat and thats pretty much it, chris hayes is not going to dominate CHB anymore now so no player will match it with the big CHF's of other teams.

in think maybe you should follow the walker sheild XI more than the footy cause some of the absolute crap your've been speaking is riddiculas. i ahve some good sources telling me that all is not going trotters way down at the town, not as many at training as was fisrt thought and the boys from down in the city not yet to be seen at any training in melbs not that hard to find a team to train with down there!!

Re: Kyabram District FL

Playing with Steve i can guarantee you that this is most definately not the case. Fielding at 2nd slip i think i make it to the stumps 200% more of the time than he does. The only time he gets there is when he thinks of a good sledge for Ben Langley.
haha must admit I did read that earlier post about stevey running into the stumps all the time and think that something dramatic had changed since I have been o/s!! any good sledges directed to langers that you could post on a forum tiger??

God 5 your spelling is ridiculous (riddiculas) im pretty sure u have no idea boyo the numbers at training are soon to pick up with the cricket season ending

Re: Kyabram District FL

It's now official, Chris "The Kernel" Sanders is to be a lion for the year. He will be an massive boost for the mainland side, can play in a range of positions and will give the lions much more flexibility.

Re: Kyabram District FL

Horsburgh woulda been my pick but he has gone north. This far out I'll pick Best (Tally), M. Shiels (Nagambie), and even T.Perry (Rushy) if he can get away from CHF and get back thru the middle more regularly in 2007.

a smoky could be rob saker from vt saw him running around with the seymour boys down in melbourne and is looking the goods

Was talking to Butch Merritt, who is apparently best mates with Brereton.. Said that he was really happy with who they've recruited and that they're quietly confident about next year.. Took him as a pretty reliable source.. When are you going to give us something about Lancy's prospects?? Any ins/outs that you care to share with the rest of us?? I hear you're tearing up the track - could be a smokey for the McNamara :thumbsu:

They have snagged the Parsons boys (Paul and Jason) from Ky I believe Tav.

Re: Kyabram District FL

What do the Avenel boys think of a practice game Thursday night 5th April before Good friday against Broadford under lights at Kings Park. Doona's men are keen should be a good night with the public holiday on the friday, round up some support so we can get it going

Re: Kyabram District FL

Is this a happening event or are you just floating the idea?

I spoke with Seymour FC president last week and sought use of Kings Park for the date Joey mentioned. Seymour has given me the green light and I bounced the idea off Avenel coach Jace Carton on the weekend who seemed keen but said he'd get back to me once he asked his group and Avenel FC executive.

Will have the Swan's answer tonight, but genuinely think it would be a great thing to do. As Joey said public holiday the following day and for two minor league clubs a hit out utilising the immaculate Kings Park facilities would be a highlight for the pre-season.

Shall let ya's know once I have 100% confirmation

Re: Kyabram District FL

avenel have got a practice match against alexandra under lights at kings ark on the 23rd of march for all grades of football and netball, as well as a match against westmeadows at avenel on the 31st for all grades of football

Re: Kyabram District FL

just looking at the transfers page, jeez its disappointing the number of players leaving murch, particulary as nearly all are going to other kdfl clubs

Re: Kyabram District FL

just thought i would throw in my kdfl leauge medal tips!! a bloke by the name of Ricky Frappell who tally has signed will make a massive mark this season in and under player and beatiful left foot kick, similar to molisak but a bit more silky smooth and shore to catch umpires eyes!!! also brenton grey has to win one sooner or later great player!! b.lowe to round up the box trifecta for 50c???? cheers

It is dissappointing and even though other clubs may be better for it, players transferring within the league is not for the betterment of the comp. A lot of it in Murchison's case is their fault as a lot of the players they have recruited in the past have been from other KDL clubs, so it was inevitable that they would move on when things looked better elsewhere. Start broadening the horizons and look outside the league for new recruits, will help your club and the league prosper.

What have Murch done to get everyone to move on? Mass exodus like that is no good for any team/league.

When are teams going to learn that some people should be chased whilst others should be left to choose their own clubs and play for nothing. When you are about to recruit a nomad think about why this guy is a nomad before you throw cash at him!! If he has played at 3 clubs in 3 years, why would you think he will be at yours for any longer than a season?

These NOMADS are addicted to the chase and stuff coaches/admin around by saying that they will come and play and become a long term player, when they know that in 6 months they will have taken your cash and be putting themselves on the market again, in the meantime a fringe player from the ones has pissed off cos he didn't get a go and a guy who missed out on playing 2's has ended up not coming down to the club anymore.

You are on the mark there Smallfooty head but Trav Vandermer looks the goods at tally to and might drag some votes of Frapple

Hayden Best will also be fighting for votes at Tally too. Also heard that Stuart Maunder from united has been carving it up in a few intra club games they have played.

Hank's got the word.
The two Parsons brothers have been training, and look good but I'm not certain they are going to play with us. Hope they do.
Dave Langdon has crossed from Merrigum, I think he had a year off last year. Should be a handy pick up.
Ryan Mitchell who played thirds at Lancy and then went into Ky and played at Golden Square(I think?) last year should be pulling the boots on.
So far we've lost young Stevie Thompson and Ando to Ky and Cosi Parella to retirement.
Still talking to a couple of blokes who haven't given a definite answer.

That's all I'm giving ya. ;)

Re: Kyabram District FL

Hey lads, my younger brother plays and trains with rochy united and he said there was talk about brahman_cavalier posting some rubbish on steve. turns out brahman_cavalier is dyl cutriss under a second user name taking the piss. Not a bad joke dylan, but i do think its time to grow up and start focussing on more important things in life.:thumbsu:

Re: Kyabram District FL

if tally have so many "guns" i doubt it very much that one player will shine with so many others around him they may have a team of champions:thumbsdown: but that doesnt make a champion team:thumbsu:
