I love Jaensch's and Henderson's speed. I think that made a massive difference Friday night.

Pondering who else can assist this weapon, and I end up with Brodie Martin.

He may be a line breaker to deliver to the key forwards which will be hard to contain.

Spot on Smithy :thumbsu:. Brodie has the speed, skill and willingness to take the game on and would really compliment Mackay on the other wing. We have a quick midfielder in Dangerfield surrounded by a bunch of medium paced (and in some cases slow) midfielders. Having a quick, skillful, attacking player on each wing would really accommodate our midfield.

Given the modern tactics (or at least our tactics) of midfield zone there is a lot of congestion in the middle of the ground so suddenly pace in the corridor is not as important (and in some cases stiffled) except when breaking from stoppages. When at the ground you can really see the space out wide (on wings) and inside both 50m arcs. Therefore we need our quick players out wide on wings (Mackay/Martin), in the forward line (Henderson, Jaesch, Knights and at times Dangerfield) and in defense (Johncock and maybe eventually Petrenko/Armstrong).

Whilst I doubt Martin will be able to break into the team this year given he is coming back from injury and proven players are struggling to break into the 22. I think he will play a role in our campaign next year. I really like him and think he is exactly what we need in our structure ;)
