Peter Sumich from West Coast was interviewed last night on Sen.
He spoke about the Daniel kerr situation and explained that Kerr did not want to leave the eagles, but was a little worried about his security with the club.
Sumich said that the club is prepared to offer him a 4-5 yaer deal very soon which should dispell all rumours about him leaving.
Sumich stated that kerr is an integral part of the future West Coast team.
So another marquee player decides to stray at his club.
Now i hope collingwood hang on to Didak.Although all the rumours will not start with him until our season is over, which will probably be in aweek or two.

My suggetion now is
Collingwood must keep Didak.
Go hard for Cousins-we give up third round pick in the draft for cousins.
Go for Daniel Harris who wants out of the roos,Straight swap for rhyce shaw or ben johnson.
Get Prismall give up second round pick to geelong.
And we still have our first round pick say pick 9-10 to pick up best avilable mid in the national draft.
So we could end up with cousins, harris, prismall plus say side bottom or ziebell. Not BAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st Round Pick = Ziebelle/Sidebottom/Blease
2nd Round Pick = Straight Swap for Prismall
2nd Round Pick = Freo's pick we use on best available Deboer or maybe Cousins would rather try our luck in PSD
3rd Round Pick + Ben Johnson for Harris
4th Round Pick + Egan/Cox for Freo's 2nd Rounder (All depending on how the Warnock and Mundy deals go might have a few extra picks)
5th Round = Reed

I like this BEEG.
However i would rather use an early pick on cousins because if we leave it too late someone else will pick him before us.Then we miss out.

I dont think any of that is unrealistic i think we could really get these deals happening if we wanted to the keys are with Harris and Prismall asking to be traded to Collingwood

sorry but you guys have no clue, no one wants a forth round pick, the only time 4rth round picks get traded is if a guy is gonna be delisted and another club gives them a chance, ie: ben davies
to think you can package a 4th round pick with a player that is to be delisted and swap it for a 2nd round pick is laughable,
you cannot swap 2 pieces of sh!t for one quality pick anymore, those days went out years ago.
bugger chasing other clubs sh!t for a quick fix, lets draft another 6 kids and build an enviable bunch of youngsters,
in most cases you get your stars from the draft, lets develop our own.

Wasn't Hird a 4th round pick?

was that 4th round pick recieved from another club in a trade?
was hird drafted years ago? re read my post
did i say stars come from the draft? yes

attempt to be smart has just made you look ignorant

The thing is drafting prismall and harris is exactely what we need.
Prismall is 21 and harris not much older,to be honest we already have a YOUNG,list we need good, skilled middle tirered players.
Another bunch of 18 year olds is good, but they will take years to develop, not to say we can't pick up a few,but at least prismall and harris are young and are experienced. They suit our needs and will slot into our side nicely.
Plus the thing is in the National draft, you really need to be able to pick the right players.
Judging from our recruiting aside from Thomas,Pendlebury, clarke, possibly dawes, obrien, shaw,Anthony and Brown the rest of what we have recruited are SHITE.
We have actually wasted a few years by recruiting players that have no foot skills.Look at hawthorns recruiting they have recruited guns and we have recruited duds.
We cannot afford to recruit mediocre players from here on in otherwise the 5-10 years will be tradgic.

I hope he stays. I don't like seeing the big names move on from there clubs.

If Kerr signs for a further 3-4 years we could see a more productive trade period too which will be good.

It stinks how big name trades holds the week back until the last 5 minutes on the Friday.

i disagree
our recruiting in the past 3 seasons since hine took over has been second to none
hawthorn are riding on the backs of franklin (a top pick, once in a generation player), hodge (mature no1 pick) etc
there are many picks of there that haven't come on for a variety of reasons (not saying they wont) dowler, thorp, muston, tuck, bailey, morton etc
remember they've had alot more quality picks than ours
its rare that your 19-22 bracket are match winners, we need to keep adding to this bracket to replace others that move into the 22-27 age where they'll form our core
recruiting ordinary foot soliders from other clubs will do us no favours
we have a decent amount of young talls, we just need to add some ball winners and we are starting to look ok, we need to forget about just topping up, we need to build a side that is capable of sustaining success over a 5-7 year period

There'll be a few clubs after Prismall. The likelihood of us getting him for our second-rounder is remote IMO. A club like Melbourne, which has a priority pick at the start of the second round, is ideally placed to get him, I reckon.

Gees man what planet are you from, you named 8 players leaving out Cloke and McCarthy, no mention of Wellingham or Goldsack either. Even with just the ones you have named thats 25% of our list just from the last few years, doesn't really meet my definition of bad recruiting. Oh and don't forget about that other recruiting blunder Medhurst. Hine really is a knucklehead isn't he? I'm sure that you could have done a lot better, but then he has to do it in real time not hindsight.

anyone up for a risechelli or a pearce? not sayin id be upset with harris or prismall but there are others that would fit and be very handy

That is an exceptionally good point mate. I'd like to see a lot of players rated in each club's 17-22 moving around, make the week interesting and giving some of the guys an opportunity in a new environment, as well as improving some teams' draft selections :thumbsu:
