I never remember newsreaders, I've lived in perth for over 10 years now, and its been over 15 years since I left SA, and I couldnt tell you the name of one news reader here in WA or when I lived in the NT.

Creasey along with Rob Kelvin are the only bloke's I ever realated to news. Thats how much of an impression he made on me, along with being a great port supporter, he was a good man, and there are not many of them around.

RIP creasey and watch along with all the other greats up there.....there are many

He was very funny and quick-witted.

IIRC, he hosted the 1986 Magarey Medal count and did a brilliant job.

That was the one where ventrilioquist Chris Kirby offended Glynnis Nunn.

Still the most entertaining medal presentation I've seen.

I reckon that was when he said to Greg Anderson after he was presented with the medal "That looks a lot better around your neck than Scott Salisbury" (Salisbury had KO'ed Anderson in the first weekend of the finals with one of his "accidental" coathangers). That comment rattled a few people - but who would dare complain about Creasey?

Ando was raging favourite that year and the 1986 medal had the SA 150 logo on it with the stylised piping shrike.

One of Creasey's opening gags went something like this...

"The SANFL is so confident of Port star Greg Anderson of winning the Magarey Medal, they put a magpie on it.'

The tribute by Chad was amazing.. Great to hear that the Creasy sent Chad a sms before the Freo game telling him that they would win by 14pts. Then the cheeky bugga sent another after the game saying that he said "14pts" not 12.

Creasy was a true mentor to the boys and took them under his wing to make them the best.

I see Creasy had his funeral yesterday, only small, the way he would of wanted it with Chad and Tredders as pall bearers.
