I know I am stating the bleeding obvious, but boy are we in trouble with our KPP's.

Full Back: Jamo looks cooked
CHB: Rowe has gone backwards at an alarming rate
CHF: Hendo playing like he won't be with us next year
FF: Caz has a dip, his marking is A+ and his kicking has improved. 40 goals a year is his max. Will not kick us bags of 6-8 goals.

I know we are re-building, but KPP's take longer than on-ballers. We need to find some gems from the draft who can develop quickly!

Good luck SOS..

Fair thread.

Jamo (cooked)
Rowe (let's be honest, not a great option, but will do a job when there's no one else available)
Hendo (gone)
Cas (best suited as 3rd tall/pinch hitting in the ruck).

Eek, going to pretty messy over the next few years unless we get a few ready-made ones.

Jeesh it does look quite grim.

We will need to secure Weitering if not then Francis.

I dont know whats worse our forward line or back?

I will say that at least we have some VFL playing younger guys that mean we have something to work with. I agree our stocks in playing seniors at the moment are really poor, but at least our management problem isn't compounded by having nothing in reserve being worked on.

Unlike previous years with Mitchell, McCarthy and the like not really putting their hand up or showing improvement, we have Fields already playing a couple of matches off the rookie list and looking OK, Jaksch a player with talent and promise, Foster working hard in the VFL and Giles to come back from injury and have a full pre-season.

Dare I mention it, but Watson blitzes the VFL and has only just turned 23.

Jamo and Rowe still might be decent contributors for a year or two and Casboult is an AFL footballer.

We need to draft and trade well in the next couple of years, but there's light at the end of a long tunnel.

Still on track for number 17 in '17....

ugghh

Might hop into bed with Stephen King's latest to lighten the mood

Not only are we behind the eight ball on front line KPPs, but we are very light on backups too.

Fields and giles are third talls, foster I haven't seen enough to comment. Jaksch I hold out hope for but isn't performing at a high level yet. Watson is gone at the end of the season.

So we need a new spine and then some.

Oh, so many joke ops

The list manager: surviving the cut
Here's johnny (Barker)
He had a short story called 'the last rung on the ladder)

Ed Curnow: the running man
Sam Docherty: the shaunhampson redemption

I could go on, but I fear I have already gone on way too long

and hey, Needful Things, and Misery don't need any work!

Casboult could be a 40-50 goal a year forward if we a) stopped playing him in the ruck b) had a midfield capable of getting it in quickly before the other team floods the forward line.
Jamison and Rowe can't be carried in the team together for much longer cos they butcher it too much and have little in the way of 2nd efforts.
We need to get Weitering, play Jaksch for most of next year, and make a decision on one of Rowe or Jamison at the end of next year.
Most likely Jamison cos he will more than likely miss another 10 games with injury next year.

If we secure Weitering in the ND and Carlisle in the PSD it would be an enormous kick start to our rebuild .
The pick gained from trading Henderson should be used on Curnow or Weideman .
So looking forward , we could have Carlisle and Weitering as KPD and Giles as third rebounding tall defender .
Casboult , Jaksch and Curnow/Weideman/Foster as our KPF with Silvagni the mid size type forward .

I think there may be a change in thinking with SOS now on board re kpp's. We very much had a ' don't reach' philosophy during the Hughes/ Rogers reign, so the talls were always left for another day. ' Reaching' is just a self imposed term on an arbitrary list order after all. I'm all for attacking the list build with the spine first.

If, want, need, hope, wish, looks like, fingers crossed etc.
We are stuffed for a few years. We need to get a decent list with depth. Gonna be interesting. As stated elsewhere above, IF we trade and draft right, but we can't rely on new draftees to get immediate improvement. It's not fair on their development. Go BLUES!!

Fingers crossed Jacksh makes it.
Clearly being held back this year to develop in the VFL.

I still think Jaksch will be a good un. Needs some time but there have been some good signs.

If we finish with the 2nd overall pick in the draft I think we will be able to draft Weitering, if Brisbane gets the 1st overall, based off past player exodus, they might be thinking draft Schache knowing he wont quit after his rookie contract.

Respectfully disagree. More importantly by some way we need quality mids and heaps of them. We are about 8 short. It's far more of a running game now, forward set ups are vastly different to yester year. Our KPP aren't great, but not diabolical and are significantly less crucial to us heading back up the ladder than our lack of quality mids.

Well we went the MIDs first model last time - our 2011 midfield wasn't half bad, but it resulted in long bombs to Eddie and walker. Quality kpps are the hardest to get a hold of , I'd prefer we make them a priority until its clear our stocks are good.

With the way this draft is looking at the pointy end where our first pick will be , it has to be a KPP .
