Is there that any players at other clubs that aren't getting the opportunity that we may be able to snare...realistic players that we can get.

What about these KPP:
- T.Lonergan (Geel): 197cm
- M.Bolton (Ess): 194cm
- J.Baird (Kang): 192cm
- T.Gaspar (WCE): 197cm
- J.Graham (WCE) - 195cm
- J.Saddington (SS) - 193cm

These are just a few. Maybe they are rubbish but we could do with a couple of extra mobile big fellas. Thoughts?

Lonergan and Saddington are about the only 2 from that list that would be worth chasing.

I don't think KPP's are our problem, it's a lack of class and discipline in midfield. Key Forwards in Fev, Waite and Whitnall are talented enough to stretch any backline, they just need to be complimented by some classy foot soldiers.

Yep i agree snoozer. I think that if we decided to chase players we would only need one or maybe two big fellas at the very most. I think that Setanta O'hAilpin will be promoted for next year proper and probably will draft Justin Crow with a late pick in this year's draft. Add (hopefully!!!) Beau Dowler and Mitch Clarke and we are well on our way. The improvement of Adam Hartlett, Anthony Raso, Karl Norman, Adrian Deluca and Chris Bryan will be great to watch in the coming year or so.

i think we need to bolster our midfield first.
our problem seems that we rely on too few to do the bulk of the work- kouta, stevens, french etc

if our midfield depth can be increase then we can rest dangerous players at HF or in a pocket or even let them have a spell on the bench (that nasty word rotation), we just need to keep developing the kids on our list.
IMO the quality is there.

getting an experienced KPP would be a bonus- as mentioned we have some kids who are going to develop, and quality KPP players are not easy to come by.

Talls should be our priority, along with inside midfielders

We desperately need a marking forward.......our forwards can only mark it if its delivered to them on a platter. Fev and Lance are one dimensional - hopefully Mitch Clark or Beau Dowler can be the one that is tall and mobile enough to take the contested marks

If you look at the gun midfields in the comp (west coast) they have 3/4 gun midfielders, and then another 5-6 that can go and play in the midfield. West coast of course have judd, fletcher, cousins, kerr, stenglein- then the likes of Braun, butler. Port adelaide are similar - Kane cornes, P Burgoyne, R James, Cassisi, S Burgoyne, PIckett, Francou, Montogomery, Kingsley. Not only do these teams have depth, but they have 3-4 midfielders who are real A graders AND have the extra midfielders to rotate. We have Stevens and Kouta...........nothing beyond that

Snoozer wake up!!!!

We desperately need some tall, marking and punching KP defenders. Thorton does a great job at FB but in reality he physically undersized and like Livo would make great back pocket or flanker. We are undersized down back and other clubs realize this and not only pick a tall forward line but also push their ruckmen forward at every opportunity.

Couldn't agree more...I wouldn't mind if they even got an older tall defender like Rawlings (this is only an example and I'd prefer someone younger but then you have to give up more in a trade) to keep us competive down back for the next two to three years or so,especially when we have injuries, so we don't have to keep playing forwards as backmen. Its going to be a while before any young recruits can bulk up and fill the gaps...I really hope Norman gets back into form and Hartlett comes along.

a kid that goes by the name of drum. marcus drum, i hear he plays in the TAC cup and the kid is big in body size and has the skill to play in afl level, people are givinbg him wras all over, wouldnt mind him...

he should go top 5 but theres a bit of query about hes size. he is 190cm for a FB. for us i recon we should go for a defender thats 195+ but if we do have picks 1+2 and he is in the best 2 players in the draft i say take him. otherwise not worth it
