Fantastic to watch, but is he going to play the whole season? I have this horrible (though totally understandable) fear that like all previous young players he'll be rotated in and out of the team to "prepare" him for senior football.

I'll be incredibly annoyed if Jack isnt in next weeks team. He was class yesterday.
McVeigh also played well - which will serve up quite a bit of humble pie for his many detractors on this board. I hope he has a blinder this year as he's had a LOT of time to develop his potential.
I can't wait to see more of him. He's such a gutsy kid.

I don't think there's any chance of Jack not being in next week's team. He was clearly one of the best handful. Moore too.
I'd also be surprised if Bird isn't persisted with for a month or so at least. I think that after the raps Roos has given him, he won't be hasty in judging how ready he is to step up.

i went to the game and jack was definitely our best player. His tackles were always strong and he never let anyone get through him. He's actually quite quick and provided good run through the half back line and midfield. Did you see his kick to Barry Hall to set him up for a goal- that was Adam Goodes style.![]()
If it was Adam Goodes style the ball would have gone a metre over Barry Hall's head.

The Swans clearly have a new Jared Crouch in Jack, who has all the traits to be an effective, disciplined and attacking tagger.
It means Crouch, now 30, could struggle to break back into the team this year after injuries restricted the once- resilient tagger to just eight games last year. Ever since his record-setting streak of 194 consecutive games came to an end in 2006, Crouch has battled injuries and has already done his hamstring twice during the pre-season this year.
Swans co-captain Brett Kirk, who is also Jack's mentor at the club, believes his pupil is tailor-made for the tagging role that Crouch had made his own for so long.
"That's where we are looking to play him at," Kirk said. "Kieren can play down back on a quicker type or he can come into the midfield and shut someone down. Is an exert from article.
Personally not what im really wanting to see him become..
Even though it does go onto him winning the ball in one on one contests, it seems that it continues the trend of negative footy..
totally agree
jack has shown he's far more than a tagger, and if he was being schooled as a tagger as part of an overall apprenticeship, he's well beyond that now
it would be cruel to him and the team to stop him progressing from what he did on saturday, as an obviously tough, highly skilled creative ball player
