Saw it this afternoon and thought it was brilliant. Not sure if it was as good as Volume 1, but it was brilliant nonetheless. Like all Tarantino's films it was visually stunning and stylish as hell, but unlike Volume 1, was more "wordy" and less violent. All the characters are great, but Ellie was my favourite. I've never been a big fan of Darryl Hannah, but "Ellie" was a laugh, and is one of the most evil females I can remember seeing on screen.
The two films are totally different and have a totally different feel to them. Because Volume 2 is set mainly in the desert, it has a more expansive look and feel, and is a little less dark. Great Film.

If you liked Volume 1, Check it out

Haven't seen it yet, I've only heard good things though.

I was a HUGE Vol. 1 fan and will be seeing Vol. 2 on Saturday.

Really looking forward to it - not at all put off by it being more "wordy", Tarantino movies are generally more dialog than action, Vol 1. was not like anything else he's done really.

yeah, loved volume 1, and watched this the other day... top flick... imo not as good as volume 1, but still very very good...

yes, pei mai was a gem... loved those scenes...

strongly recommend 2 check it out...

Loved it :D

I'd probably rate the vol. 1 higher but only because at the time it was like nothing else i'd seen before, whereas vol. 2 is just the continuation, so didn't have the same impact on me.

Yeah the movie was awsome!, not quite as good as the first but I didnt expect it to be since the first was one of the best movies ever made.

Pei mai is one of the best characters I have ever seen, loved every second he was on screen.

According to AICN, QT has edited the two films together and will show the compiled film at the end of Cannes. Now that would be worth seeing.

That doesnt really come as a shock as the first movie was fairly short, but would be well worth checking out.

The movie comes out in Japan 2nite I think so I am hoping to check it out b4 the weekend is done.

LOL...I didn't think the Japanese will like the character Pei Mai as much as the people here do!!

Yeah well I got a feeling you are right. Anything that could even be perceived as being disrespectful towards Japan isnt looked upon too highly, although everyone loved Kill Bill Vol 1. Lost In Translation was released here a few weeks ago.

Loved it! Very different to Vol 1, the action scenes are more abrupt, and there's more dialogue - to be honest, this is what QT does best anyway.

Pai Mei was a crack-up, reminded me of the master/apprentice things in the old hong kong martial arts movies.

The movie was delightfully over-the-top, just in a different way to Vol 1!

The great thing about the movie for me was the fact I didn't know what was going to happen next. At any stage. Most action films are boring and predictable but this had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through it. Right from the start of the film at the Chapel to the Bride meeting up with Bill at the end. Just sensational and definitely worth your time & hard earned.

I watched the movie the other night. Excellent mover and as another poster said it wasnt predictable, which was good.

One thing that ****ed me off majorly was the Pei Mai spoke in Chinese for the whole bit, so here in Japan the subtitles were of course not in English. So I have no idea what he was saying, but he still made me laugh.

I saw it saturday, brilliant movie, I really liked Vol.1, but this one was definitely the better of the two.

Also got talked into seeing Starsky & Hutch, even though I had no desire to see it, damn glad I gave in, very entertaining & really funny movie.

The one thing that dissappointed me about Volume 2, was the Music. In 1, there was some classic tunes which really added to the scenes. I got a chill down my spine when Santa Esmeralda's "Don't let me be Misunderstood" began playing at the start of The Bride's and O-Ren's swordfight. Zamfir's "The Lonely Shepard" was another classic, and the 5, 6, 7, 8's were fun. But there was nothing like that in 2. I purchased the soundtrack yesterday, and their a lot of nice tunes on it, but it isn't the classic Volume 1 was.

I love "The Lonely Shepard" - great movie theme right there. Also Bang Bang and just generally the music was a perfect fit.

Vol 2's music didn't have the impact - some parts were done well - I would have liked the "The Lonely Shepard" to make a reappearance (I don't think it did?) - maybe in the Pai Mei scenes.
But yeah, it was still done well (as you'd expect) just not as good as Vol 1.

ah loved it...

pai mei is a fantastic ~

just deciding if its worth the extra $$$ to purchase the japanese release on dvd... (for the fight scene against the crazy 88s in colour)...

Some bits of it I thought were brilliant. Other bits were disappointing. I was a bit disappointed by the final showdown ( was expecting a much longer fight scene) and that is probably which stands out most to me at this point in time. I would love to see the full edited Cannes version, as having watched the movies basically back to back, I don't think it gelled well.

The anime is also longer. I am sure I read somewhere that the Sofie interrogation scene is in, though I have not been able to confirm this

Yeah, it's not much more - just her cutting off Sofie's hand in the car boot. When we got the "Give me your other arm!!! AAAHHH!" sound flash back, they got that with a shot of her hand being sliced.

On the disapointing final fight scene, I too would have liked something longer. Apprantly they cut what was meant to be Bill's orginal intro in the movie - a good fight scene with an unnamed character, instead they went for the church intro, so that the end wouldn't be a big let down.
