It's pretty damn spesh, I thought the original Viscari one for Killzone 2 was pretty amazing. This has raised the bar exponentially, in more ways than one.;)

I was looking on a USA site and u can get the Helghast Ed (yanks call it collectors edition) delivered for around $160ish, worth importing for the $100 savings.

The only problem being that any DLC that comes out that you might want will probably be invalid.:(
 
Just went back and played some KZ2 skirmish. Forgot how unbelievably epic that game was. Any way to go back and check your KZ2 stats? I tried going to killzone.com but I can't find where

Control layout is the same as KZ2, at least from the beta it is.

The default is terrible, but there's another that is basically exact to COD just with a few of the KZ extra's.

In terms of weight and stuff, it's definitely lighter than KZ2 was and more in line to what COD is in terms of weight (although still nowhere near as pacey). There's still that heaviness from KZ2, but it's not as noticeable.

ah ok well that sounds good then. Didn't play the first one, but had a crack at the second and I couldn't adapt. Can't wait for this one though actually.
 
Maps in the MP have been detailed. Still not too sure what the 2 Killzone 2 maps in the Collector's Edition are going to be however.

Level Description

Once the home of Scolar Visari himself, this upscale district on the banks of the Corinth River is now the site of intense fighting between the Helghast and the ISA. Though largely untouched by the nuclear blast that destroyed much of Pyrrhus city, the partially collapsed highway stands as testament to the intense fighting that has ravaged the area in recent months. WASP rocket emplacements and capturable Mortar Beacons will help even the odds against the exoskeletons that dominate the highway.

MP02 - PYRRHUS CRATER

Level Description
In the ruins of Pyrrhus, nuclear Petrusite flows from the blast crater, twisting itself around the mangled remains of this once bustling city. The ISA have established research stations to analyze the Petrusite, and the Helghast have already started to harvest the Petrusite in order to weaponize it.

Level Description
After weeks of fighting, ISA and Helghast forces are deadlocked. Recent flooding has forced both sides to take shelter in buildings bordering a major thoroughfare. Pitched battles roll through the tight alleyways and building interiors daily but the long sightlines make crossing the road a dangerous proposition. Who will break the stalemate?

Level Description
In a last, desperate attempt to escape Helghan, the ISA have launched an assault on the ‘Tharsis’ space elevator. Jetpacks and Minigun emplacements will give an upper hand to anyone that can secure them. Recent fighting has damaged the turbine powering the elevator, causing a malfunction that produces intermittent EMP discharges. A nearby blast crater serves as a valuable source of nuclear Petrusite but the Helghast will not hesitate to sabotage if it means stopping the ISA.

MP05 - FROZEN DAM

Level Description
Abandoned for years, the dam facility in the frozen south has recently been occupied by the Helghast who are using it as a forward operating base to co-ordinate their presence in the region. Controlling Mortar Beacons and the numerous Tactical Spawn Areas is key to securing this sprawling facility.

MP06 - AKMIR SNOWDRIFT

Level Description
Helghan is a planet of extremes and nowhere is that more evident than here, in the frozen wastes. Violent snowstorms are common in the area, which has recently become a flashpoint of fighting between Helghast and ISA forces vying for control of the mining and radar operations in the area.

MP07 - MAWLR GRAVEYARD

Key Features

* Warzone – 24 Players
* Operations – 16 Players
* Mortar Beacons
* Crusher

Level Description
One of the few remaining active scrap yards in the region, the Sukmere Pit is a vital processing facility. An intricate conveyor system runs throughout the yard, transferring detritus from the southern-most pit to the train station and crusher in the north of the facility. Many a careless worker has died trying to cross the yard when the crusher is active.

MP08 - KAZNAN JUNGLE

Key Features

* Guerrilla Warfare – 16 Players

Level Description
Amidst the wreckage of a downed ISA Cruiser, the survivors of the failed evacuation of Helghan fight for their lives against a Helghast enemy bent on their annihilation but they are not the only predators in the area; the jungle, the plants and insects that call it home are friend to no-one.

Sony has announced PSN users will be able to download and play the Killzone 3 open beta on February 2 in the US and February 3 in Europe.

This Beta will offer exclusive early access to the MP05 ‘Frozen Dam’ multiplayer level from Killzone 3, including all three online multiplayer modes – Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone and Operations – as well as the offline multiplayer mode, Botzone.

Killzone 3 Might Make Me Try PlayStation Home

With the Killzone 3 promotion, players will be able to venture into a new zone in the Central Plaza where they'll be able to play a free mini-game called Killzone Defender. It's a really simple shooter where you stand still and use the analog stick to aim at the Helghast who pop up.

Killzone Defender is more a charming gimmick than engaging game, but the reason I could see the more hardcore among us jumping into Home to try it is for the benefits. Complete all the challenges in Killzone Defender and you'll get three multiplayer unlock points to use when Killzone 3 comes out (they buy abilities or weapons). You can only do it once, though, so don't think you're going to game the system. Additionally, if you want to pre-order Killzone 3, you can do so straight from Home. This sets you not only the extra three multiplayer points that Amazon offers promotionally but also an exclusive PlayStation Home Helghast avatar outfit.

And no Electricity Gun?


that list is for multiplayer only

the electricity gun was only in the single player for kz2.
no doubt there will be sweet ass weapons like the electricity and bolt gun in the single player again.

also what's the deal with the sta-11 and sta-11 se....they appear to be the exact same gun but one has a silencer. the original version doesn't even have a red dot sight or anything....it basically says nothing is affected in the write up for it.
i'm going to assume that the silenced version is slightly less powerful but if they are the same power wise then the unsilenced version is basically a useless weapon.
 
People wanted more colour and life from Killzone 2. Guerilla Games gives, Kaznan Jungle!
