I think I have worked out my sensitivity. I chucked it to 50% and smashed it.

Went 13 and 2 in my first match (which was only on for about 3-5 minutes) and ended it with an 11 killstreak. Next match I went 30 and 18. The last match I just went under 1 k/d but we also lost the match 0-7, so to even be close to that was pretty good.

Liking Tactician as my class, has the built in UAV like radar on your screen and also has the ability to drop drones and obviously the biggest one which is to open up spawn points (which have mortar beacons that I love:p). You can give your team huge advantage playing with this class and so far it's what I'm sticking to.

People expecting a twitch arcade shooter (COD, Resistance etc) are going to be disappointed.

Killzone is the FPS equivalent of Gran Turismo (gameplay, not sales.)

that's exactly the mindframe i took going into kz3 knowing where kz2 was at and was just hoping for a nice compromise and it has been delivered in spades as far as i'm concerned.

i was playing it just before and on 60 or 70% sensitivity it feels no different to bad company 2 imo besides slowing down from running full pelt which is 1/10th of a second longer on kz3.

I think it's one of those things that people coming from COD will instantly find a dislike for it, because it's NOT a twitch shooter and it's definitely not a pick up and play shooter (which COD is OBVIOUSLY put itself towards more than almost any other FPS out there). It's a close combat action game, yes, but that doesn't mean it has to be twitch.

People coming from Battlefield will find a much easier transition because as Camo said, it's really just like that movement wise (once you adjust the sensitivity +50%), which is why I reckon Knighta was doing so well when I joined him the first day of the beta. It's also one of those things that with Battlefield every new person that comes into it is given the advice "JUST TAKE YOUR TIME TO LEARN THE GAME" that's exactly what people need to do with KZ3 too.

It's a mindset that I don't really like all that much tbh "MAKE IT LIKE COD" is what you get from every person discrediting any other FPS. If every game tries to be like COD then we'll have some pretty depressing times ahead in the FPS genre.

I would love to be able to learn how to play this game, but the beta plain old doesn't work for me.

I get a 200001 connection error every time.

Cheers. Thinking about purchasing KZ3 off there but I don't think I can wait that many days after release to play it :p
Yeah, I’m facing that problem now. Pre-ordered Dead Space 2 off there and I’m still waiting. It better come this week or I may just lose my mind. :(

Btw if you’re going to get KZ3 off that site for that price do it soon. It’s that low only for a week.

Don't know what your problem is there, have never seen that connection error myself.

Maybe your best option for now is to just sign off PSN and play botzone?

The patch fixed it for me...

This game is pretty good, although it does have its gameplay flaws.

Love

No noticeable lag. Smooth as a babies bum.
Some beautiful visuals, love the cloaking.
Good level up system, not just based on time in game, you have to earn your stripes.
Can play with international friends
Seems quite balanced. No noticeable exploits.

Loathe

Infiltrator or whatever the **** it is that disguises the enemy as a team mate. Hate it.
Melee is completely random. Pretty much a 50/50 when up close.
Very hard to distinguish friend from foe.
Custard controls - dont care what anyone says, the sloppy control system isn't just "different". Its worse.
Not being able to set ones class up except in game. Seems minor but its fun looking through all the weapons and abilities while waiting for a mate/chilling.
It takes a buttload of damage to take the enemy down. Too much IMO.

Infiltrator is easy as shit to pick up about 2-3 hours into the game. First off to pick it up right away, just ADS at anyone you think is suss (or anyone not really in your spawn base), that instantly shows them up as red. Also there's little give aways like their suit being weirdly composed of wrong items of clothing or just being dully lit. Don't think I've been killed by an Infiltrator after knowing the little signs.

Agree about the class thing, have a feeling that might have just been something stuck in the beta and maybe in the full version it'll have a proper system for it. But still, the game gives you a good amount of time before match to select stuff and I don't really ever feel left out if I've come in a minute or so into the match with the whole rolling objectives and stuff (although you may be playing TDM only, so it would make a difference there).

Dunno about the damage, it's definitely more than COD, but it's not really a whole lot from most weapons. Plus you get the added helper of the ammo boxes which I think is to offset the amount of ammo lost, since you can pick up ammo almost everywhere.

Thats only if your engineers do there job and fix them up.

It not that it gets me that much, its just annoying as I find myself wasting half a clip into a team mate all the time. Its just a shitty idea IMO and ruins the continuity of the game.

Oh I have never not had enough time to do what I need to do, but its fun looking at all the stuff when waiting is all. Not a massive deal, just slightly annoying.

Provided there is an Engineer on your team. Up close its OK, forget about picking off a moving target from distance - even with an assault rifle.

It's annoying and you get a lot of your teammates do the same, but just ADS up to your teammates if you suspect anyone and it will save you many more clips.

Wil probably end up giving this a miss at launch with time/money/other issues considered.

Shame, I quite liked number two and don't have a go to FPS at the moment...

Was looking forward to this game after seeing much of the footage and hype about it, and that was before I'd even picked up KZ2.

After playing KZ2 though, and reading that the 'slugginess' of the controls remains, I think I'll redirect my funds elsewhere.

Download the beta and see for yourself. Your fellow BF:BC2 gamers (that have given it a go) would probably argue against sending your funds somewhere else. Both games are VERY similar.

Shame, expecting this game to live up to my low expectations when I can get to my PS3 again early-mid March. Everything looks the goods so far apart from the melee to a gunfight thingo.
