The deal with the region lock on Demon's Soul was that you could only connect to the region that the disc is from.

US disc = US servers.
Euro Disc = EU servers.

Naturally that means you couldn't play online with someone with a different disc because they connect to different servers.

By the way, I think I might just end up picking this up after some deliberation....
I'd be guessing that's mainly due to the weird nature of Demon's Souls online rather than any standard course of action.

Definitely worth the pick up. Blown away by the AI so much in this game, at one point the AI had the exact same idea as me to throw a grenade...and I'm talking enemy AI decided to throw a nade at me when I was setting up to throw one at him after being in cover for a few seconds.

Graphics are just off the chain good.

Also the two KZ2 maps have had a great facelift, the Market map has been changed from night to day, given mechs and been balanced a lot better than in KZ2 and the better map Blood Gracht has awesome Helghan plant life all over it giving it an amazing look.

Across all stores?

If yes then that's awesome. Minus my staff discount it comes to 65ish.
Word on the street is stores from NSW and VIC have done it so i would say it is across all stores.
The mother inlaw has a discount card too(forgot about that) might go buy it and trade it into eb for some credit:thumbsu:

@ HBK
Have you played it with the Move controlls yet?
Haven't bothered to yet. Will probably go through the campaign a second time trying it out, but I'm too scared to give it a go online.:o Maybe botzone will be my go for Move.:p

**** yeah this game rocks. Got my arse handed to me in a handbasket last night, which was actually a good feeling after the n00bery that was Broke Ops.

Honestly, the most amazing graphics I have witnessed in a game. I am not a PC gamer so I am sure it's not as good as whats on that platform but in terms of console gaming it is bleeding edge. For those that played the beta - Frozen Dam is quite possibly the most boring map on there, some of the other levels will make your eyes bleed and brain melt.

The controls are still sloppy, but you can live with them, I have learnt that KZ is not as ADS essential as CoD. I am shooting from the hip in 75% of the 1v1's and doing ok, I am only aiming when I need to pick someone off from long range.

No lag to speak of. Seriously, not a single second of noticeable lag. Frame rate is smooth. Everything in terms of supporting infrastructure is perfect.

but...

this will fill the void for a while to come, but whats with the lack of guns? I thought the beta was just a taste but nope, thats it. 2 or 3 SMG's, 2 or 3 Assault Rifles, 1 shotgun, a few pistols, 1 sniper rifle and thats it...that feeling and excitement in CoD when you try out a new gun will not be in this game.

I would also like the ability to pick and choose what set up I have. Maybe I want the Tacticians assault rifle on the Infiltrator class? If you could do that with all the abilities and guns it would make the game last a bit longer IMO.

Ammo is on ration in this game. If no-one goes Engineer and creates an ammo box you will not win. You will need to be very lucky to get more than 1 or 2 kills outs of a standard clip. Embarrassingly, I actually ran out of ammo once without getting a kill! Sprayed one target and got an assist on another and thats was it. Bullets gone.

Infiltrator is not as annoying as the beta as Frozen Dam is one of the most congested maps, meaning Melee and close quarter classes are going to be somewhat dominant. They get found out on some of the other maps though.

All in all well worth picking up, so far it is much, much more enjoyable (and different) than Broke Ops but it still has it flaws. If only the Call of Duty franchise and used KZ's graphics and server methodology/infrastructure. *sigh*

Got the whole day off to enjoy this :) Will hopefully hit the multi player up over the weekend.

The maps do look incredible. The jungle map that's transfered directly from the campaign is so goddamn delicious looking it's insane. As I said before, the 2 remade KZ2 maps, more specifically Blood Gracht just look amazing too. The atmospheric effects are extremely deep.

Also just fwiw Morell, there's an option somewhere to be able to pick and choose your unlocks/loadout and such in the MP menu (just in case you didn't know).

That was available to be done in KZ2, but I believe GG have taken it out for balance reasons. I think they just want to balance all the abilities and guns so there's no super overpowered classes.

How is the green-haze type map where you're sort of running on an angle? Makes the rudimentary CoD "square with a bunch of buildings" maps look ordinary. Amazing stuff.

Yeah I did see that, you have to sort of go "back" which is a bit counter intuitive.

Everyone is so focussed on balance that i think sometimes they remove the variety and fun out of the games.

If there are overpowered classes (finding them out for yourself is half the fun IMO) then let people use them and boost their KD or whatever, a lot of other players will use a variety of stuff because thats what they enjoy.

I wish developers would quit locking people in to playing in a specific way or with a specific style...

The green swirly haze stuff is a great addition, makes some of the SP levels look that extra bit nice too.

Also liking the interactive elements in some levels. There's this part in one level that if you push a button it will squish whatever is in front of the section you're at, a little hard to describe, but it's like a quick car crusher.:p

Balance keeps the games fair though. If you stray too far away then you end up with a mind**** of a game or something that you just rage too much at, KZ2 suffered quite a lot from some strange unbalanced parts of gameplay. It'd often turn the game into a tight cornered ****ton of fighting between 12 people which was just insanely hectic and became a bit repetitive and annoying.

KZ3 is easily one of the most balanced games I've ever seen. They've done a stunning job of balancing the maps with the stuff like jetpacks, mechs, class perks and weapons to really allow the game to still feel fair. Which is huge.

Played a hour or so on MP with morell just then, was reasonably fun. Hard to get used to the aim again since playing so much COD. Gave up trying to use shotgun after 30 minutes or so, if you dont get the first shot in 99% of the time you will die.

So do teammates actually go for objectives in this game?

Yeah they do stupid gimp!

Can I ask why people have green names and then their on the other team?

Yeah have learned that now, there were just a lobby where these guys were talking about how good their kd's were in a couple of games. We lost one of them 7-0. I thought, here we go:rolleyes:.

It's the infiltrator disguise I believe.

Finished off the campaign last night, not bad but some issues with sound drop outs, the voice syncing was some of the worst i have encountered in a game and some of the cut scenes just got skipped through because they were boring.
At the start of one of the cutscenes Seb and Rico crashed and it sounded like they were doing the dirty " ahhh oooooooo ahhhh ooooo" if i hadn't been watching the screen i was sure they were doin it.
