Meh, who really wants to be pretend kicking and pretend lightsaber swinging anyway? I play games so that I don't have to physically exert myself.

Movement is the biggie here, how will that be controlled? The vid shows the guy lunge forward to charge forward but then the slicing down of a droid and turning to face another looks like it's on rails....

Looks like Unleashed but worse.

Whoa, let's not say things we can't take back.

...although, yeah. It does.

Can we just have the X-Wing: Alliance expansion packs and a new Dark Forces game yet? Or were they too brassy and story-rich for LucasArts' new 2-4 age demographic?

Looks worse than Unleashed!!!

Is it just me too, or are they going for the 'Clone Wars' aesthetic too? Which is easily the worst form of Star Wars going around...

Or a new Star Wars Jedi Academy

Well, that's a part of the Dark Forces series anyway. Even if they seemingly rebranded it with each installment.

Will no doubt be terrible. Just give me a GOOD Star Wars title with a regular controller and i'll be happy. The KOTR games aside, the last good star wars game was Battlefront 2. Why there is no 3rd installment is beyond me.

Hell, I'll take a new Star Wars: Battlefront. That game was awesome.

For those unaware, imagine Age of Empires II. But Star Wars.

That was Galactic Battlegrounds.

Battlefront was more like a Battlefield 1942-lite.

They were developing a third Battlefront, but for whatever reason it was scrapped and transformed into a crappy little handheld game for the PSP.

Free Radical (Timesplitters series) were developing Battlefront 3, but they went bust, so no Battlefront 3, unless someone else picks it up.

Lucasarts were one of the greats, once. Now they are just a shambles.

Back when they were cherning out classics like Fate of Atlantis, Monkey Island and Sam & Max to name a few. Those adventure games were classics and were taken for granted. Now all they release is garbage, worse still when you hear Lucasarts you still get excited thinking it could be a return to roots, only for it to be more garbage.

Yep, and not only was it the Schaefers and Gilberts pushing things with their outstanding adventure games, it was also the teams that made the Dark Forces series, Outlaws and X-Wing/Tie-Fighter.

Episode 1 killed Lucasarts. After that, all original idea's were scrapped and they existed more like Lucasarts toy figurine line than any kind of independent creative force.

Lucasarts downfall is yet another piece of evidence that George Lucas is a hack. Seriously, this guy has franchises like Monkey Island, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango under his banner and yet the ONLY IP to be used is Star Wars. I'm not even talking about games here, these IP's should not have been left to die:thumbsd:

Without a doubt. X-Wing Alliance sold poorly because it wasn't an Episode I game, and as a result the expansions were never developed, and the story remains unresolved. If I hadn't been totally burned by the last decade of Star Wars, I'd still be wondering what the hell happened to Uncle Antan.

With the notable exceptions of the KOTOR and, if I'm being generous, Republic Commando, LucasArts' output ever since has been pure and utter junk. The Battlefront games are serviceable, but uninteresting compared to what came before.

It's great to see Sam & Max and Monkey Island getting minor revivals from Telltale Games (wonder if they'll do a third Maniac Mansion or something...?). If LucasArts had persisted with funny and clever adventure games, they might have had as ardent a following as Rockstar by now. Alas, they leave their creative department at the hands of soulless imbeciles like Haden Blackman.

Didn't Rebellion pick it up? They did Renegade Squadron on the PSP, which would have been great if the PSP wasn't such a piece of shit.

isn't that what he said?

That's what she said.
