I don't know but has anyone actually seen him with his arm out strectched above head height? Maybe they just can't move out that far?

I'll say it - why didn't the midfield hit targets and Ablett played crap today.

Kingsley wasn't the worst out there today.

Fair point, Kingsley needs to learn how to mark infront, but today with wet ball, you need to give him a break. Midfielders must cop some blames aswell.

I thought Kingsley played well today but yeh, he does need to learn to mark with the arms out in front.
Far from the worst, kept presents and ended up with 2.3 for his troubles.

I'll happily bag him, he's a soft player who can't mark overhead and he doesn't convert well when gets the ball. Yes the midfield were crap (Kelly and Joel Corey excepted) and yes he is better than Haynes, or Gardiner, or Lonergan at this stage, but 2-3 goals a game is nowhere near enough for a key forward.

Kingsley is soft
Agreed. It is tough to take a mark in the hands out in front coz the defender could hit you in the head or body, Kent would not like that. Even in the dry he goes for chest marks. Softest player in the AFL. Shame he keeps kicking goals (most of the time)

Yeah Kent is soft. but how can you defend Joel Corey. He had 28 ineffectual disposals and his direct opponent Akermanis destroyed Geelong. Just because you get alot of the ball does not mean you have played well. hawthorn will destroy Geelong if they play the same brand of football, continually cruising around waiting for a turnover. where has the desire to go and get the ball gone?

Do you close your eyes when Scott Camporeale and Adem Yze are on the tv?

Talented, but make Kent seem like Jon Brown.
That a fair point.
Can we take Yze though, he is soft but he goes ok.

I know, but the one I saw was a perfect kick out in front. Kingsley could of got it with his arms out. By trying to take it on his chest he gave the defender a free punch at it.

Kent looked reasonably dangerous at times yesterday, but no matter how good you are as a KPP, it's mighty hard to dominate a game in wet conditions.

The ball wasn't delivered to perfection for Kingsley as well.

But was the kick speared at him or out in front? because marking out in front at a ball being speared to him is hard enough, even without the the wet conditions he faced.

For me, the frustrating thing about Kent is that he has shown he is capable of playing better than he generally does. I remember him kicking seven goals a year or two ago, I think it was against Essendon? and he just looked so damn good... if only he could do that more often. But I generally defend him when all the Geelong supporters around me at the ground are caning him... he does try hard.

He might try hard, but the beauty about sport is that you get exposed. Maybe he just isn't good enough to be a key forward at the top level. He'd be a very dangerous 3rd or 4th forward, but he isn't good enough to beat the top defenders. And with Playfair, Ottens and Steve Johnson out on Sunday he had to step up.

Alot of harsh/negative comments about KK. I know that we all love to hate KK, but there were alot worse players than him on the paddock on Sunday. I thought he presented well at times and looked like he could make an impact. In KK's defence the conditions were not suited to marking/leading forwards at all and lets not forget he had the best in the caper (Mal Michael) on him and still outmarked him on a couple of occasions. All of you :D

I can be as critical as the next guy on Kent but lets take a breath here. If anyone has anyone who has played on forwardline will tell you if the ball comes in crap, or if you are ignored there is little one can do. I watched Pavlich, (Oh my goodness , how id love to have him at our club) be wasted by the dockers in the last Q against the Roos. He stayed forward and the Dockers fiddled an they lost the winnable game.
My critisim of forwards has always been based on opitunity. Those given , thoses created. The great Gary Snr would often kick 7.5. or there abouts, but he so often would create his own chances that one could forgive his wastefullness. When Kent is playing well he too can get a lot of the ball but too often his days results can be effected by his first or second set shot. He actually kicked a goal in this, match that any player would be happy to claim, he just lacked enough quality ball to get going
This week at least, KK was not in my main target of blame
