Mouthed off to a bloke who was mouthing off to a teammate. Next marking contest I got a knee in the ribs. 10 minutes later I was fine.

9/10 there is no lasting damage. Just unlucky if there is serious damage.

It's a Geelong tactic under Chris Scott. Hawkins is the best exponent of it and used to great effect QF 2016.

It's dirty and should be looked at closely.

Sure let's ban it. Whilst doing that let's erase any mark & historical footage from our game with any knee/contact above rib height, may as well take the remaining pieces of football fabric too.
God almighty nobody jump again!

What's the proposed rule? Serious question.

In the back I guess. You can't place your hands in somebody's back - with literally zero pressure - yet you can take a flying run up and cannon into them with a knee, perhaps puncturing a lung?

This is devils advocate stuff, but it's a very reasonable question. How is this stuff ignored but they press on with penalising these harmless tackles because of incidental contact with the ground?

I guess the main difference between a knee from a player launching himself and hands in the back is making the ball your number 1 object. The problem comparing this to sling tackles is that they arm resulting in numerous concussions. The AFL's pretty reactionary and if enough injuries are recorded, then yeah a player getting pushed out with a knee might be looked at. Gut says it won't though.

Nah earlier than that, was perfected by Bomber with Pods, his knees in the back and head used to give Gibbo nightmares....good times they were...

After the rubbish Greene does to clutch a mark it's the least he deserves.
