I wanted to do a weekly summary as I don't believe that Supercoach gets enough talking points as opposed to DT, which has media everywhere. Here goes...
Player of the Week
Bartel was outstanding in compiling 184 points, but this week I'm going to have to give to the big Waz. Warren Tredrea dominanted the match from start to finish and ended the game with a massive 184 points. Props to you if you had him! Quick point - Wazza is priced at $484,200 and has averaged 112.6 since the first two rounds.
Dud of the Week
The Fevolution. 39 this week after an even worse score of 29 last week. Memo to Fev from 123,089 coaches 'If your injured, rest up and get better or extract the digit!!'. The latter being the preferred option.
Black Sheep (unique)
Leigh Montagna. I think the guy is now elite. Run, carry and ball use are all superb and essential components to a good SC scorer. He's expensive at $583,800, but he is getting the job done consistently for his 10,726 coaches.
$2 Bin
Jack Grimes ($188,400). Ok, this is an obvious one, but does anyone seriously doubt that he can't score well? Job security is a slight worry, injury an even greater worry. The old risk v reward here and a possible year defining trade if you haven't got him already. McGlynn ($228,300) is also worth a mention, averaging 97 over the first two matches he has played this year.
Class Over Ass
Matthew Pavlich ($558,800). Did we ever doubt that he wouldn't come good? The guy is a superstar and a super consistent SC scorer. Personally, he's coming in for Krakouer this week.
Flash in the Pan
Justin Sherman ($427,900). The Sherminator was incredible on the weekend (154 points), destroying the Crows with pace and good skills. Don't be fooled though, Sherman loves a clanger and he'll rack a few of them up this week against the Saints.
Going, going, gone
Nathan Krakouer ($395,900). This relationship has been like a summer holiday - it's been good while it lasted, I even thought it could have been for real, but it's run out of legs and it's time to head back to reality.
Serious Man Crush
Simon Goodwin ($541,900). You answered the call of the mighty Knight Ryders and not only did you play in pain and stop a Krispy Kreme, you racked up 116 points. Props to you G-man
.
SC Anti-Christ
Heath Hocking. The guy is killing Supercoach teams one by one across the land. Last week it was Mitchell with a paltry score of 68 and this week it was silky smooth NDS with a season low of 72 points. Next stop - Brett Deledio.
Knight Ryder's Weekly Observation
If you are thinking about bringing in someone who has been effected by an adductor/groin injury this year, think twice and do your research before doing so. Typically in the past (re:Judd/Ball in 2007) players are nursed through the year and their scoring output is cut significantly. Here's hoping that Ablett is the exception, but only time will tell. I, for one (for interest sake, I kept him), will be watching his movement very closely.
