You can manually change skin tone. Can't remember what option it was but I played with it briefly.

Yeah I know how to, but the thing was the darkest I made the skin tone was well not very dark at all. I'm either doing it wrong or you can't do it. No biggie.

Yeah that's happened to me a few times, one time I thought it'd be a good idea to wear Hawthorns all brown heritage against St. Kildas mostly black, couldn't see shit and lost by 10 goals

Or perhaps the ability to change once the game starts? I'd locked mine in and didn't pay attention he had picked the purple one.

Im not sure if this is an issue. But is there meant to be a free for holding the man without the ball? This might help drop the number of people tackle mashing constantly

The game has froze on me 4 times when subbing a player or using manual interchange using the pause and team management option.

Anybody had trouble with custom season after moving players to other clubs? I am thinking of adding myself and some mates to AFL teams and moving some players around clubs, with so much trouble just in a normal season would it be worse in a custom season?

An issue i had was injuries on medium, in the last qtr I lost Graham, Derickx, riewoltd, deledio, Edwards, Houli and Tuck all to injury, Houli, Graham deledio had to be taken of the ground and not return so I subbed in Taylor for the game to freeze. Re started the match and again had 4 guys get injured, too scared to use the sub in case of a freeze , ended up getting belted in last qtr

Pretty Happy with the game, well done bigant. I have just made finals with essendon and not a freeze or anything gone wrong yet, hopefully it continues that way :)

Re: AFL Live - Bug Reporting

Thanks guys.

sTeel: Can you explain it a bit more to me? It says Custom is 7mil and AFL team is 10 mil. Says both can go online as long as their cap is met.

Re: AFL Live - Bug Reporting

Im not sure if its a bug or not but i'm 95% sure Ross stated that when you create a team it would copy players from the team and put them on your created team.

This is not the case it removes them from the team completely and this wouldnt be a problem if it made a copy of the team leaving the original intact but it does not.

Once again do not know if that is a bug or on purpose.

OH and is there any way to fix it so that we can take a team we create that breaks the salary cap in an offline custom season or custom cup but still not be able to take the previously mentioned team online therefore protecting the online gaming experience.

Re: AFL Live - Bug Reporting

The manual states on page 22 of the XBOX manual(assume PS3 is the same):

Online & Custom Players/Teams - An AFL team has a salary cap of $10 million. A custom team has a salary cap of $7 million(with a $3 million franchise fee). Both AFL and Custom Teams that meet their respective salary caps can be taken online.

You cannot take any customised AFL teams online currently. I would also like to add that $7 million is really low for a custom team and you really need super spuds to fit even a half decent 22 in. While I understand we dont want a team of superstars, an $8 million cap would be a more reasonable compromise. Even a $7.5 million would be more useful.

Custom teams are available online. To select a custom team you have created and play with them online, do the following:

Find Match
Team Select (press L1/R1, PS3) or (LB/RB, Xbox360)
Select your custom team

Edit: You will see the shoulder buttons above the team logos

  1. In AFL premiership mode, game froze with 18 minutes on the clock richmond vs north melbourne. When I restarted and played again, it didn't freeze thankfully - hoping its a one off and not the same as other problems with season mode reported on here.
  2. Every time I leave the game idling in a menu and the controler switches off and the system goes into sleep mode, when I return, the game if frozen and I have to quit to the dashboard and restart the game. This does not happen if I leave the game idling in an actual match pause menu, just when it is either in the season menu or the front menu (may also happen if i leave it idling in other menus but haven't tested yet).
  3. Several times I have kicked it out of bounds on the full when I wasn't aiming near the boundary nor did I kick it too hard. When the opponent takes the free kick, they then kick the ball out on the full (almost to 'even up the score'). However, instead of me receiving the free kick, it gets called a throw in.
Other than these three bugs and the lack of explosive speed, I think the game is great! One question for Ross though - I don't have xbox live and my ps3 is busted (needs a new lens). I bought the xbox version to play it now but I plan to get my ps3 fixed soon and get the ps3 version too. However, in the interim will we be able to get the patches without the xbox being hooked up to the net (ie download the patch onto a PC and then install onto the xbox via usb)?

Re: AFL Live - Bug Reporting

Just to add to the Playstation buttons on the Xbox loading screen, one page also had the square button. I'll check which screen it is when I see it next (but i assume its goal kicking related?.

Ant: Moved your post here. The bug threads needs the correct format

I doubt it.

Why not just hook up your xbox to your computer just to download the patch? You only need an Xbox Live Free account for this

Im not stupid. You cannot take customised AFL teams online. Which is what the manual states. Different thing to just plain custom team.

Something that is really disappointing for a Lions supporter besides Jack Redden's rating of 63 is that Josh Drummond is a right footer! Drummo has one of if not the best left hoof in the competition and you couldn't get that right! I lined up for goal with him today, assumed he was a left footer so aimed left for the natural arc and the ball goes about 20 metres to the left of the goal posts out on the full on his right foot. Not happy Jan!

Didnt say you were stupid. I simply chose your post to respond to!

You'd be amazed at how many people do not see things like the shoulder buttons. Or dont read manuals, or dont read the button prompts on navigation bars e.g. Controller Select: Press square (ps3), x (360) and adjust your controller settings. Things are missed when sometimes glaring people (not saying you) in the face.

Im thinking some may not have even noticed things like pressing "square" (ps3) or "X" (360) on the main menu, that you can view online and offline stats on the big screen using the thumbsticks to zoom in close and pan around it. - same idea in trophy room to view things.

Re: AFL Live - Bug Reporting

This isn't a bug, just more of an annoyance, but the menu music to me seems way louder than everything else, to the point that i'd turn the volume down after a game, then back up during the game. So i've moved the music slider down to a more tolerable level and one that seems the same as the game sfx, but now that means the club songs at the ends of games are nearly inaudible over the crowd. A separate slider for the menu music would be great.

Leigh Brown for collingwood kicks with his left foot! had a shot after the siren thinking he was a right footer ended up kicking out on the full which resulted in a draw! thought that was pretty shit haha

Re: AFL Live - Bug Reporting

Platform: Any
Type: Any
Status: Any
Type of Match:
Teams: Any
Round Number:
Type of Team: Custom Team
Bug: I don't know if this is a bug or not but there is no way to change a players jumper number, also shouldn't you be able to keep a player in there team and in your custom team so there in both just like the special teams.

Ant : Thanks for doing the format. That's more of design choice then bug though mate. Have moved this to the feedback thread

Pretty sure someone has mentioned they've used their created GWS online against someone elses created team. So I'd say it can happen.

Re: AFL Live - Bug Reporting

So do headsets work online? I haven't hear anyone. If they don't work will it be fixed in the patch?

PS3

Works on Live however that was with Party Chat, which sits outside the game. Was chatting to 8 guys from BF last night while playing.

Yet to hear anyone with a Mic in Quick Play
