noticed a glitch late last night.
was playing collingwood v port - first game of the 2011 afl premiership season mode.
it was about half way through the third quarter. i was winning, but by no means had the game won. i decided to use my sub. took krakouer off for l. davis. later on i realised (start of the 4th) that swannie was no where to be seen. The sub had worked the way i wanted it to but swan was gone- not on the field or bench. he was wiped out of the game. even the ruck rover position was gone.
weird stuff. lucky it was swannie or i wouldnt have noticed.
Ross is it at all possible to put something in the patch that allows us to be able to make a custom team and not have it take the players from the other team ie if i make the footscray theives will i be able to have judd in my team and carlton at the same time.
Agreed completely with this!!
And on the same note is it at all possible to chuck something into the patch so if we create a team and it passes the offline salary cap ($10 mil) we can still use the created team in an offline custom cup or custom season and the team still can be taken online.

Were you using the substitute through the pause menu, or through the 'on-the-fly' interchange system (using the D-Pad during gameplay)?Last night I tried on purpose to get the game to freeze by subbing off a player. Voila - within seconds the game seized up.
Massive massive issue I've found through play testing 4-5 different scenarios over the past 2 days.
Simply put - if you sub a player off during your game, the game is most likely to freeze up.
I've had it happen 4 times so far. Twice I didn't quite know what had gone on, but suspected that it could be something to do with subs as I'd subbed an injured player off just before the freeze.
Last night I tried on purpose to get the game to freeze by subbing off a player. Voila - within seconds the game seized up.
I would suggest right now that if you use your subs, you're playing with fire in terms of havving the game freeze.
Ross - if you are reading this - it is a serious issue and one which needs to be addressed, especially when you cop injuries.
Just for info - the freezing has occurred with 3-4 different teams in both season mode and quick match mode.
Did you bring on your substitute for a player who is currently on the field?
I put Shiels (Sub) on for Hale (centre) and this caused my game to only have 17 players on the field. I went to fix it up in the team menu and it froze.
Previously I had been bringing on my sub by changing the sub with an interchange player. I have had no issue doing that.
Two issues for North (sorry if they've been mentioned - possibly effects other teams):
- Goldstein (ruck) auto interchanges as a midfield player. e.g. You'll be playing a long and all of a sudden you've got MacIntosh in the ruck and Goldstein as your ruck rover.
- Thomas and Goldstein have the right foot icon beneath them when kicking for goal. Should be an icon for the left foot
Also round two Pies vs Roos the game froze after making significant list changes before the bounce. Reloaded and left the default squad and the freeze didn't occur.
Yes had the same issue. My girlfriend also did when playing as Essendon, with Hille rucking and Ryder as a rover
What I would like in future, is players to have more then one position and or area of play. I.e Griffien is on a wing, I would also like him to rotate as a ruck rover at times. Same deal, throw Roughead forward
Agree I think the 'playing out of position' thing is great in theory but so far frustrating in practice. Wells takes a performance hit if he plays in the midfield - but he plays there all the time. So that's a bit rough. Also Tarrant is recorded as a forward but now he is playing down back in real life - but to replicate this in game you take a hit. Players get reinvented in this way all the time, sometimes mid season - shame that this will be a source of frustration for the gamer, especially for weaker teams when you can't afford to hurt your ratings. Not sure what the outcry would be but maybe Bigant should consider patching this feature out of the game until the advanced config can be developed further in the next title.
I'm thinking players (or maybe only some like HF/HB and midfielders?). should have a primary area and secondary area. With secondary taking a small stat hit but not large? Not that big of a deal to me, just my thoughts.
I think there is already something built in. I moved deledio from back flank to wing and lost nothing
I'm not sure if anyone else has faced this bug. I was playing with Essendon last night and before the umpire bounced it up in the centre, I paused it and made some interchanges (one of them was Hille -> Ryder). When I resumed the game, Hille was standing in the centre circle (which is fine), during the bounce Hille didn't move and out of nowhere Ryder comes steaming off the line and wins the hitout.
It was pretty funny, I didn't know Ryder was that quick haha.
. Minor query and if you can make the dark option, darker lol that would be ace. And if this is just me not knowing how to do this let me know.![]()
Yeah that's happened to me a few times, one time I thought it'd be a good idea to wear Hawthorns all brown heritage against St. Kildas mostly black, couldn't see shit and lost by 10 goalsNot a bug however maybe a issue to fix next release, was playing online as the Dogs, my opponent chose Fremantle and picked their purple jumper.
Horrible clash, we both couldn't tell who was who, though he did better then me at it. I would run the wrong way thinking I was the Freo guy.
Could we make it with the clashes, one person is forced to wear the clash (all white) jumper?
