Saw alot of kolouriotis 2/3 seasons ago... showed a fair bit then, what are his chances in '07? will he be kept and wll he be any good... also what are playfairs chances after a poor season when the cats needed a key forward to step up?
thanks
GTD

I think he deserves another chance, good player. Playfair also deserves another chance, injury influenced his season once again, should perform better in 07. Nathan Ablett will probably take the key forward position with the form he has recently produced

Koula played one game this year and will be lucky to be on our list in 07, but Playfair will be here but needs to prove himself. His career might be saved by a change in position from CHF to CHB.

Totally agree with Fors above, Playfair might have found his niche at CHB, less accountability when things go wrong. Might be hard to get a run as Harley usually plays there, however imagine putting Harley to a back flank, Playfair to CHB and Hunt to a forward flank to bomb goals from 50+.

Its the call we are after.

sounds like we would have even less run than ever off the 1/2 back line? where would our rebound come from?

Playfair wouln't play CHB you wouldn't think. We changed Lonergans role to CHB and if he keeps on playing, which i hope. We will have Egan Lonergan and Harley to play CHB. We don't need another one of those.

Playfair is too slow for the forward line let alone the back line.

Haven't heard that one before. Quite a way off the mark. I'd hazzard a guess that you won't find too many blokes pushing 200cm that are as nimble as him.

thats not being fair to butchers!!!

he makes woja's disposal look pin point doesnt he??

Haha! Poor butchers :D

At least Wojcinski bombs it long and butchers it a bit. Koula does short passes that turn over and attempts the cute passes.

I'd see what was out there in the trade marker for Playfair. He may still have some value. The likes of Nathan Ablett, Mooney, Ottens etc are all ahead of him in the KPP stakes, and I'd prefer to see someone like Grima get a chance at CHF in the VFL next year.

Koula's gone and I think everyone knows that. He was effective a few seasons ago when we had Cresswell, but since he went so did Koula's chances.

Hunt and Wojo, I'd say.

I would throw enright on the HB at times also. I would not however play J.Corey there as I think he is better value in the middle as he can be a clearance winner and runs hard enough to be able to push forward and back making him a dangerous midfielder.

Koula Gone

Henry Offer as Trade if no go then keep as backup for a year then if TL doesnt play again you have th eoption of keeping him or ditching Him. eitherway no forward play and I have seen him in the snrs in defence and is woeful. TRADE TRADE TRADE...with a pick or another player for Bradshaw...Kelly springs to mind.

You've got to remember that the most risk-averse coach in the league is still in charge so you can only expect the bare minimum of delisting/trading to be done.

I would think that Lonergan is a good chance not to go on (unfortunately, tragic for the kid).

Koula is gone - evidenced by not selecting him when our AFL midfield was struggling and he was picking up 40+ possessions in the VFL. That was writing on the wall if ever I saw it.

Charlie Gardiner must be on thin ice although he is contracted and Bomber has continually shown more faith in him than he deserves. You could expect this might continue.

Kingsley has walked so will be delisted if he is not traded.

The feeling is that Spencer is not up to it although he is still contracted. Again, the risk-averse BT might keep him on to see out his contract.

McCarthy will have to go. Top notch VFL player but too injury prone and hasn't come on at all when tried at AFL level.

So if Koula, Kingsley and McCarthy all go, that only leaves one more necessary delisting. I feel it will come from Lonergan (if he decides to give it up), Gardiner or Spencer.

The only complication will be if we decide to promote either or both of Sam Hunt and Will Slade. That will require 1 or two more spots to be freed up.

So we go classic - use the tall guys to either mark, spoil or bring the ball to ground and use the shorter, faster players to get the ball out and moving again.

CE , I have to agree that Spencer's future is highly questionable. In fact one question would be , if he has 1 year to remain on a contract with GFC, is there any reason that would prevent this year be played as a supp player in the VFL? Delisted from the main list but certainly not depriving him of his due and to be frank when you look at our talls on our list.

Backs
Scarlett, Egan , Harley,Playfair, possible backup Hunt, possible backup Lonergan

Forwards
Mooney, Ablett, Ottens, Hawkins, Playfair

To my mind even if Loneragn decides to pull the pin we have more than enough options to cover the talls on the ground. Are they all elite quality no but they are proficient players. Hunts form in the VFL showed he is capable of being an offensive rebounding tall with a good kick.In this he is differnent than most of the tall options we have.

The only way I can see Spencer logically being kept is if we trade someone like Playfair for a good pick, say to the Bullies for their R2. It might seem light for a guy who has shown occasional form at CHF but it would enable us to re-balance our list.
